What do you think a Star Fox movie would be rated? I'd say PG, but what about the rest of you guys? My "Star Fox movie (2nd Thread)" thing didn't work out like I hoped, so I've replaced it with this.

Yeah, I think I know what the D-word is, and I dare not repeat it.  They'd probably go as far as some stuff like Fox seeing how big Andross is in his true form, to which he replies "Holy sh@#.". The movie would probably have a little bit of sexualized humor, like Falco saying "Hey Fox. Where'd you find this one? Dancing on bar tables?", which you know would be calling Krystal a stripper.

So how about the rest of you? Have you made your decisions yet? Well I know Puff would rate it R if he was making the movie and he had Krystal decapitated, but I don't think even Puff would go that far.

Anyway, Star Fox would most likely turn out as a PG-13 rated movie, if not for profanity, then at least for the same level of violence as Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith. Heck, there's a scene in the first part of the film where Annickan Skywalker takes 2 lightsabers like a pair of scissors, and beheads somebody. I don't think even Star Fox would be that violent.

I still think it should be rated PG. It's got a lot of dark Star Wars related stuff, but with humanoid animals just about everywhere you look, which is usually meant for kids.

Anyway people, keep debating what you think.

Sexualized humor sucks. Ew, no.

I'd say either PG or PG-13, probably the latter since a GIANT ICKY BRAIN would scare little kids.

You mind voting for that then? If that`s your final decision that is.

Agreed. No sex humor because sex humor is evil.

Also, no potty jokes and variations (the kinds of jokes you see in EVERY SINGLE G and PG movie for the past 8 years, with the notable exception of The Incredibles) because they are immature, overused, and show a general lack of writing talent.

It wouldn`t be that much.

Another thing that would prevent the movie from getting a G rating would be maybe alcohol consumption. They could do a scene where Star Wolf menaces the patrons of a bar while looking for Star Fox. A scene like that could also have Wolf telling the bar tender "Tell us where Star Fox is, or I`ll put laser holes where your eyes are supposed to be!!". A PG or PG-13 rating would definately give the movie that sort of stuff. Right?

Mmm...PG-13. Violence, mild language, and maybe a bit of "suggestive" humour. Nothing really bad, but like in Command when Falco inquires about Amanda: "Slippy's engaged?...Like, to a woman?"

I thought it was funny.

They should try calling Oikonny something like that. I`ve heard so many jokes about Slippy being gay it`s getting tiresome.

I don't see why people would think Andrew is gay. Slippy wore a purple necklace, sounded like a girl, etc, etc...

Leon gives off the "rapes everything" vibe, he makes a little more sense...but really any fan's mind can twist -anybody- into being "gay".

Anyway, if you vote for the rating you want, then your voice will be heard by all of us.

I would say PG-13, no sexual humor, and maybe some some language as long as they don't drop the F-bomb. And the futuristic violence would put it at PG-13.

Hm, yea, I agree with Dras on the whole 'lolz sex humor' thing. It's okay if it's done well, but often times it isn't, and just makes people groan and roll their eyes, or make immature people go 'ewwwwww'.

I'd say PG-13 probably, but it's also likely to end up as PG knowing the people here...

Good point. Star Fox doesn`t have any proffanity yet, other than certain dialogue in "Star Fox: Farewell, Beloved Falco".

It'll probably be PG in Canada regardless of violence or sex humour XP We have a really messed up rating system, compared to the one in the US.

The same incident happened with "I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry" starring Adam Sandler. Rated R in America, 14+ in Canada.

Now, I wouldn't have krystal decapitated. For all you know, I just have a love hate relationship lol. Ask dwight. Anyways, about the sexual humor, a well placed "Suuurrre you were" is all you need lol. Besides, if they did make a movie, about space mercs.... It is bound to have a tiny bit of violence. The original fanbase for starfox has grown a little bit as more than just children play the game. Granted yes, it was pointed at kids, but they have grown also. I would say MA, but that is just me and I like more "real" movies. I hate pokemon (I still think the original 150 rock though) and everything that I was into in 4th grade.

In order to emmerse the movie goer into a new alien society, some things will have to be graphic. All that needs to be done is Starfox to move into a direction that exposes a little more violence and emotion at a time. They can't just jump into it, it will take time. I dont want a starfox movie ending up like pokemon. Endless sequals, stupid near idiotic stories and dumb charicters. It was good at first but then.... it died.

I think Star Fox is generally thought of as a more mature series than others by Nintendo, besides maybe Metroid. I mean, Command with its racy jokes and even near-swearing, and Adventures and Assault are both rated "T" (which is rather silly, but even so). Even Star Fox 64 was pretty dark, with war and death and stuff. I think the only ones that can compare are Metroid and like, Zelda: TP and MAYBE OoT.

But yeah, I doubt it'll be lower than higher-end PG. Anyone remember Titan A.E.? Partial nudity, maybe some mild swearing, blood, violence, and general all-around death. It got PG. Animated movies are frequently rated lower than live action because...it's less "real" I guess. But that doesn't mean it'll be a happy kiddy romp, oh no...

You know, if they got the plot right for a Star Fox movie (Hopefully computer animated), then it would definitely get that PG-13 rating. Okay, here we go:

The movie opens up with a narration of how Andross nearly destroyed Corneria with his devastating experiments in weaponry (A bomb he dropped on an occupied city), as well as his lust for power. Fearing Andross could destroy the entire planet, General Pepper received orders from the Cornerian government, and exiled Andross to Venom, a deserted, supposedly lifeless planet at the end of the Lylat System. Five years later, Pepper notices strange activity coming from Venom. He hires the Star Fox team, consisting of James McCloud, Pigma Dengar, and Peppy Hare, to investigate. Upon their arrival, a short battle begins in which Star Fox destroys a few enemy ships, and Pigma betrays the team, stating Andross offered him more money. As James is captured he tells Peppy to get away. Peppy does so, and the last he sees of James is the destruction of his friend's Arwing. Once he returns to Corneria, Peppy informs General Pepper, and James' son, Fox, about the incident, and of Andross building up an army. Fox is in tears of rage, and vows vengeance for his father's death. He spends the next 5 years training along side Peppy in different types of combat, as well as living as Peppy's adopted son. Fox finally gains enough experience, and forms a new Star Fox team with himself as the lead pilot. Fox's wingmen are Falco Lombardi, Peppy, and Slippy Toad. The new Star Fox recieves their first major job when General Pepper briefs them on Andross's invasion of Corneria, and that most of the Cornerian main fleet has been killed. Star Fox heads to Corneria, repels the enemy fleet, and decides to follow a certain path through Lylat to reach Andross on Venom. Fox and the team head through the asteroid belt, defeating a small group enemy ships along the way, and head to Fichina. While they're on their way, 2 of Andross's officers, Sgt. Caiman, and his superior, Comander Rancid, secretly hire a mysterious group of mercenaries to track down and kill Star Fox. Star Fox gets to Fichina, and after ROB 64 informs them of a bomb at the base they're trying to protect, are attacked by Star Wolf, the same mercenary unit Caiman and Rancid recently employed. Star Wolf is made up of Wolf O'Donnell, Leon Powalski, Pigma Dengar, and Andrew Oikonny. During the dogfight, Peppy tells Fox that Pigma contributed to James' death. Fox grows violently angry, and shoots down Pigma in an overly aggressive manner, supposedly killing him in the process. After defeating the rest of Star Wolf, Star Fox heads to Katina, after Pepper tells them the planet is under enemy fire. With the help of Fox's old classmate from flight school, Bill Grey, Star Fox defeats the enemy fleet. Meanwhile, Star Wolf arrives on Venom, and receive immediate medical attention for their serious injuries. Wolf is informed that the cybernetic implants are only temporary, excluding Wolf's left eye and Oikonny's legs. Wolf now hates Star Fox even more than before, and doesn't want to stop until Fox is dead. Later, Star Fox is on Macbeth, where Fox is using the Landmaster to chase after an enemy supply train. The team gets into a rough situation, until Falco's old girlfriend, Katt Monroe, arrives to help. The group destroys the train by sending it crashing into the supply depot it was heading for. After the mission, Falco treats Katt to a nice night at a small cafe, even though he didn't want to at first. The rest of Star Fox teases Falco about his relationship, and Falco claims that they were just old friends in kindergarten. Katt ends the night early when the television in the cafe displays a news report concerning Venomian activity on Zoness. Katt hurries to the planet, and Star Fox follows. They arrive and in time to be shocked at what has happened. Zoness is now heavily polluted because of enemy activity, with the plant life dying and the ocean a sickly green. Star Fox supports Katt in how she won't forgive what Andross did to Zoness, and the group together defeats the enemy fleet occupying the area. Katt bids farewell to Star Fox and leaves, with Falco a little less annoyed by her. Star Fox marks their semifinal objective as breaking through Andross's space armada. In the battle, Rancid is killed, while Caiman retreats from the battle. Fox and his crew arrive on Venom, but have to battle Star Wolf once more. Star Wolf is defeated again, and Fox goes alone to face Andross in a final showdown, despite the protests of his team mates. Fox reaches the center of Venom, and discovers that Andross is now a giant disembodied head with a pair of hands. Fox destroys Andross's main form, but Andross turns into a gigantic brain with a pair of eyes. After a difficult battle, Fox destroys the brain, and Andross assists in his own death, attempting to kill Fox with him. Fox is saved by what appears to be his father's ghost, who guides Fox out of Andross's base as it explodes. Fox's wingmen are relieved that he's okay. Peppy asks Fox if something's wrong because Fox is looking off into the stars, but Fox tells him nothing's wrong. Star Fox returns as heroes, and are each given a medal of bravery. General Pepper asks Star Fox if they want to join the Cornerian army, but they turn down the offer. Star Fox heads back to the Great Fox, and sets off for their next mission. Andross is heard laughing, and states that he will eventually return from the dead.

Does that sound PG-13 enough?

I think it would depend on who made it.

If it was an official move, I imagine it would be kid friendly U or PG experience. Which is about the ratings of the games over here. Ratings here (England) are pretty leniant, but do jump on bandwagon issues with haste legislation. Manhunt 2 for example. (Polatics and games/films should be kept appart imo)

If I made it, I think it would range from 12A to 18 because of violence. That's just the way I roll. Spiderman was rated 12A.

Well...

1. Yeah, that could be PG-13. Still, I can see how someone could twist that into a children's film. Don't get me wrong, I want this to be PG-13 at least (OK, maybe not at least), but it would have to justify that rating.

2. The story in of itself is kind of an exact rehash of 64. If it were me, I'd add in some stuff, mix it up a little, add some characters, take out some levels, etc.
