ARWINGCOMMANDER 3987
It probably should. I really want more Star Fox games to keep the rail-shooter aspects. When the results are in, and if most of us say yes, then I'll Nintendo what we think. Happy voting! EDIT: Or I can just e-mail Nintendo and say I think it's best if Star Fox goes back to that sort of gameplay. Anyway, just keep voting.
Mr. Krystal
Yes. They should try to follow the mechanics of SF64, but with a new story and such. Emailing Nintendo about this will do absolutely nothing.
ARWINGCOMMANDER 3987
They are interested in hearing what customers think though.
Mr. Krystal
They are interested in hearing what customers think though. Not always. Nintendo has been known to go directly contrary to the popular opinion (for example "Nintendo should make games for PS2" from a couple years ago). And trust me, they get thousands and thousands of individual letters and emails a day. Most will never get past the customer service department in America, much less some development studio in Japan. JediFox
YES! They need to go back to orginal gameplay! It's WAY better.
ARWINGCOMMANDER 3987
Yeah, but maybe only a couple of on-foot or Landmaster missions.
Nysut
I'd rather see a more open style of flight control: Full 360/180 degrees of freedom like a flight sim. Missions could start at one point, have a series of way point objectives, and an end point. Attack missions, defense missions, escort missions, all of which you could approach from any angle (literally and metaphorically).
ARWINGCOMMANDER 3987
Hey, you made a good point. Star Fox has never had escort missions before. They could have an escort mission in the game where you have to protect very important people, like Peppy since now he's the general of the Cornerian army, Krystal's parents if they're still alive (Somehow I think they'd be very important characters), or it would be just some scum bag like a dangerous criminal that's wanted by the Cornerian forces. Another thing that would be a great addition to the series would be the option to customize your ships, giving them different upgrades like certain lasers, missiles, stronger armor, anything. The main thing I'd like in the next game is an epic story, which is what I liked so much about Star Fox: Assault. I'm still waiting for a full explanation of Krystal's supposedly tragic past life. Four-eyed Vulpine
I voted no, but partially, and here is my reasoning. The rail sections are welcome in the game, but I prefer this aspect to be just a part of the whole game. This is why Assault is definitely my favorite series installment, because it incorporates a variety of gameplay tactics and doesn't go extremely heavy on any one thing. Being a mercenary isn't all about following a single path to victory, ;)
ARWINGCOMMANDER 3987
Yeah, maybe all future Star Fox games should be like Assault, just a bit harder, much less on-foot combat, and a lot longer. Oh, and bringing back the multiple routes you can take, like in the first Star Fox, Star Fox 64, and more recently in Star Fox Command. The next game in the series could still start out the story with an on-rail Arwing mission like most installments have, then you get to chose which mission to play afterwards, and so on, and so on, until you get to the final stage. Just so it isn't so short and sweet, they should have at least 10-12 missions for each route. How's that?
Four-eyed Vulpine
Not always. Nintendo has been known to go directly contrary to the popular opinion (for example "Nintendo should make games for PS2" from a couple years ago). I'm pretty sure they do that in an attempt to get people to "think outside the box," which at times can be pretty effective. Example: Remember TLoZ: Windwaker? Before it was released, everybody was saying that it was going to be a horrible and kiddy game because of the cel-shading. After it was released, perfect reviews across the board. And I agree with you, AC, except the part about canning on-foot combat. War without ground battles isn't war.
ARWINGCOMMANDER 3987
:? I just like Star Fox for it's lovable characters and Star Wars-style combat......Well, space shooting isn't all of Star Fox. That's why I loved Star Fox Adventures, the other reason being and her puppy love relationship with Fox at the end.
