CrypticQuery
Am I the only one that hates Gamestop? They butcher games and systems, everything is overpriced, they place stickers EVERYWHERE, they never clean their used systems or games, etc. I've had too many bad experiences with them to count. To name a few: I went out to buy a used Gamecube recently, and they happened to still have a Gameboy Player with it. Both were horrendously dirty, and needed an hour of cleaning; I went hunting for used games, and most of them didn't have manuals, boxart, or proper cases. I even saw some that actually had dirt caked to the case. It was disgusting! The USED stickers also drive me crazy. ESPECIALLY when they place 50,000 of them on the box, and start putting them on the art! That drives me INSANE. Has anyone else had major gripes with Gamestop? ThePointingMan
Here in the Can of da, gamestop is called EB games, and no it's been pretty swell for me. A lack of manual or box art makes the price of buying the game cheaper for you, and it's nothing they can fix, because who ever sold them the used game is to blame for loosing the box-art/instruction manual. For me, used boxes only get one sticker, a yellow one. white=new, yellow=used. dirt caked on, not the stores fault, the person who owned the games fault. their are things that can be the employee's fault I guess, but your going to have different employees in every store. Smash-Kun
Oh, I know how it feels man. I one time tried to find a game called 'Tales of Symphonia'. I ordered that game for my birthday, and once it came in, the first thing I noticed was that there was white substance around the middle of discs. I could barely get through to the main menu, and even then, battles would just freeze the game. I told GameStop about this, and they apologized and were willing to send in another copy for free. But guess what? Once I got to a point point early in the game, the disc couldn't be read anymore. Place has terrible service. Oh, and another thing. My cousins take terrible care of their Wiimotes. They yank the attachments, so that eventually attachments stop working all together. Guess where they sell them? They don't test them or anything. My friends say that their GameStops are spot on, but I just loathe going there. However now it's my only choice, since the GameCrazy across the street is closing. Saaaaaad faaaace.
Mr. Foxer
Somebody drew on one of the discs I have with a permanent marker. Game disc does not equal paper.
Owner/Technical Admin Sideways Posted April 2, 2010 Owner/Technical Admin Share Posted April 2, 2010 I haven't had any issues with Gamestop. I bought a refurb PSP fat, and it works great, no issues. The stickers - they come off easy enough. Most of the time they're put right on the plastic sleeve. The ones in the spine are actually easier, most of the time they never take the sticker off the backing..

It drives me nuts, 'cause I can't take the sticker off the art without damaging it.

Saaaaaad faaaace.I know what you mean. I've also gotten so pissed at Gamestop for not play-testing any of the used games they receive! When I finally found a Gamestop with a copy of Starfox: Assault, it had no art, no manual, it came in a PS2 case, and there was a white build-up, most-likely similar to yours, on the disc itself. Not surprisingly, it didn't play past the first level. I eventually cleaned it up, because I couldn't get it replaced as Gamestop had no other copies. FalcoX12
I agree, I had some problems with them for trading in games and purchasing used controllers which turns out that they don't work. The only thing I find good about GameStop is preordering games but that's mainly it.
Guest Julius Quasar
Now that I think of it, Gamestop had this stupid bitch clerk who kept touching the game disks she was putting in the case, getting her fingerprints on it and messing up the disk. What a moron. On the plus side, they did fire her. Serves her right.

Excuse my swearing, but it seriously looked like it had shit-stains on it. The controller was the worst part.

Sabre
Ok. I've said this plenty here and elsewhere. STOP GOING TO GAMESTOP!We don't have them here, but we do have major game retailers people moan about but keep using. Game. However, don't like game? Go to grainger games, or Gamestation, or one of the many small shops, or go online.I have issues with 2 of the retailers. Gamestation once gave me jip about a game that didn't work. I kept taking it back, and it kept not working. Grainger often use these stickers that leave sticky white crap when you peel them off. They are cheap, but I avoid them because of that. If there's a game I really want, I pre order it from game, otherwise I tend to use the internet these days.
