CR4CK3RW0LF
Alright folks, ive decided that it might be a good idea to leave the last thread i made in the dust and create a new one with a more focused topic.i basically want to create something for starfox that fans of zelda have made for zelda.see, the zelda timeline has been debated and some have created such solid structured ideas that its almost better than the official one!in that sense i want to do the same, but with the Lylat System. The structure, the places, the cultures, really breath life into the lylat system.just so there isnt any confusion, no im not asking for an altered timeline, im asking for a better lylat. the official pictures of the lylat system and everything cannon related makes my head spin! not even close to a realistic system!any ideas on the places on the planets, the culture, the geography, how they relate to other planets, alliances, enemies, you name it. either way, topic is open for debate, i like the idea of it being left to the fans, if anyone has any solid ideas for a system structure, feel free to post it.try to keep it to cannon planets, starfox 2 is acceptable, giving a description of each planet is a great idea.... id like to keep it to the most recent time period, that being after the events of command. if you want to post something in lylat wars or some other period, then please state it at the beginning of the post.. Asper Sarnoff
I've got a few ideas I'd like to share to see how solid they are.Macbeth, you've allready heard this one.As we allready know, it's an industrial planet. I envisioned the planet is ran by an oligarchy of powerfull factory owners, the government being to weak to oppose them, and the rest of the planet lives in something similar to the east-block collectives before the fall of the Soviet union. Basically the worst of both communism and capitalism ruled into one. During the Lylat wars, it became an important ally for Venom in arming up its enourmeus war machine.KatinaSince this one will also play a critical role in my fanfiction, delved a bit into this one as well. It's a very dry planet, and inland, most of the vegetation consist of large fungi-like plants. It had also several Cornerian military bases on the surface. That much we know from canon.I'd also suggest that the population of Katina mostly lives as nomads. Always on the move from one water source to next. While these tribes are scattered and few in numbers, they will band together in times of need.Katinians are a proud and noble people, which was proven when Venom sought to invade them several years before the Lylat wars, and use their rich mineral resources to fuel their war machine. The rest of the Lylat system didn't oppose this openly, as people believed Venom could be bargained with, and avoid a galactic war which would ravage the entire system. The Cornerian military command did however lend support in the form of weapons and equipment to the tribes of Katina, to help them defend themself against the Venomian forces that attacked them. While it seemed like Katina was doomed from the start to fall under the attack of Venom, they somehow managed to stand their ground.Problems of supplying their forces, and Androsses personal opposal to send more soldiers than originally planned kept them from achieving victory. And were finally driven off the surface after a last desperate campaign by the Katinian forces. In the aftermath, Corneria established an alliance with Katina, and set up several military bases there in case Venom attacked again. Which as we all know, they did. While I'd like to avoid comparing fictional planets with real countries. One can say I based this conflict heavily on the war between the Soviet Union and Afghanistan during the cold war.Another theory I have, and this is one I'm quite inerested in hearing peoples opinions on.Ahem. As we know, the population of the Lylat system is made up of a huge variety of different species. I'd like to think that instead of all these evolving on the same planet, all these various races originate from different planets in the Lylat system. I'm sure Darwins theories works the same in other galaxies than our own as well. These races are so fundamentically different from each other. But if they all evolved under the same conditions, only the few, best adapted ones would survive til they reached a modern age.Dogs forexample is from Corneria. As we all know, there are many various types of dogs, and the varied, earth-like climate of this planet could leave room for several of the species inhabiting it now to have evolved.Fichinia, since this is an arctic planet, I'm pretty sure one can say this is where wolves, and other animals adapted to cold weather would come from.Apes from Fortuna, lizards from Venom. See where I'm going with this? Then, the technically most advanced species reached the stage of space travel. Shared their technology with the rest of the galaxy, and we end up with the Lylat system as we know it today. The problem with this theory however, is how one would explain the fact that many of the specias are so similar to each other. One would have to guess they all have common ancestors if this would work out.But in that case, how did they get scattered across the galaxy, and started to evolve differentle from each other?Experiments from a techologically advanced alien race(Krazoa?)? An I have not played Adventures, but from the looks of things their structures do look "magical", but certainly not "super-advanced" as a massive "seeding of life" would require... Or so I think. CR4CK3RW0LF
@DRL, sounds familiar, isnt that scientology? well scientology is a little different.. but i digress. the halo series gave a great spin on that, the forerunners collected us all and then fired the rings, saving the rest of us, but killing themselves.ive always liked the idea of us humans mutating ourselves so far with science in order to survive that we just became these creatures overtime. so much so, that a pure version of our race no longer exists. in this case im not sure it would work due to the fact that its lylat, not sol.great post Asper! this is exactly what i want ill be posting my thoughts on the new venom soon, i even have capitals.. though its more or less still a small city. I would gladly offer myself for such an experiment...However, now we should go back O-T...
