So, I'm sitting at my computer, and my TV is on in the other room, and all of the sudden I hear a female voice with a strong British accent say "Hi! I'm Krystal" from my TV.

I had to see what it was, wondering if I had missed some announcement or something.

Turns out, it is a Windows 7 commercial. It isn't the SF character, but the coincidence is worth noting.

For the record, I hate the Windows 7 taskbar. For some reason, Microsoft took everything I hate about OSX's dashboard and put it int he Win7 taskbar. I run Win7, but if you saw my computer, you would think I'm running XP.

KDE creates something

Time passes...

Apple copies it

Microsoft copies it

Anyways, I've seen this commercial a few times, never noticed the name :S

Oh my gosh, I think I'd bow down if I hadn't seen the TV yet  :D.  She could kind of pass for a voice actor though!

You know you play too much Star Fox when something like this happens.

Yeah. Windows 7 is...really just a Vista without the hassle, blood, tears, hair pulling, and deaths. Well.. 70% of it is, on my opinion.

Awesome commercial!  And I hope Windows 7 is better than all the other crap that damn company has spewed out in the past.  I ain't got Windows 7, the closest I ever got was a crappy bootleg copy my dumbass cousin put in my old laptop after a virus crashed it.

I've never had a problem with Vista, I don't see why everyone makes a big deal out of it. >_> When I bought my laptop (through Dell) I had the option to upgrade to Windows 7 when it came out, and I chose to stay on Vista. >_>

My sister has Windows 7 on her laptop, and I've played with it a bit. I actually rather dislike it, and prefer Vista.

But yeah, I've seen that commercial sooo many times. :)

Probably the main problem people had with Vista was the fact that Microsoft lied about requirements to run the OS. Then the driver-makers had to retroactively create drivers that often didn't work well. You got Vista and a much more powerful computer towards the end of Vista's lifetime, and so those issues were already worked out.

On Topic:

I noticed that her name was Crystal, but I didn't make the connection. Frankly, I think these commercials are silly. Microsoft didn't get their ideas from outside customers. They have internal designers who look at design abstractly and at design already available in the market.

Besides the fact that most Vista computers crash/freeze, get LOADS of viruses, and are complicated to understand (at first. You eventually begin to understand how it works later), it's not too shabby.

Even I won't say that. Apparently Windows 7 is pretty good. I've never used it, but I've heard good things.

Windows 7 > Windows Vista.

Aeroglass still handles like a tank, though. So I turn it off.
