MarekMcCloud
[This is a question for voice actors!]How does it work? I mean like one person is like, "herp derp imma making a game and I need voice actorz" and another guys like, "derp herp I can do a good [character]!".My question isn't how to voice act, I am really good at it, but my question is how do you people get together and do them? Like for example, one person lives in Michigan and another in France. How does that work? Do you guys send wav/mp3 files to each other or something?I think I sound retarded, but I don't know how it works :?
Mr. Foxer
Basically, but it would be better if the two could meet in person.

Guest DRL
Unless you can meet in person, sending the mp3/wav files isthe best you can get.Does not allways work, thought.
Asper Sarnoff
Skype is good. Unless you are like me, and have a sligth fobia for directly speaking with others trough Skype/phones.If that's the case, E-mail should be plenty, unless you plan on some really huge files wich exceed the attachment limit. MarekMcCloud
Uh, never thought of skype, and yea I have to agree with you Asper, I really weird about that stuff myself. But it is a good idea though. Now sending sound files to each other would be a drag. Beh, better just meet in person. There are forums for it though, check some of those places. DZComposer
A professional job would probably get all the VAs together in a recording studio. As far as doing it long-distance, any way you can send audio would work, though for more realistic conversations, a VOIP service like Skype would help, but there is a sacrifice in audio quality. Star Fox Runner
A professional job would probably get all the VAs together in a recording studio. They don't do that all of the time actually. According to the interview that Mr. Krystal did with Alesia Glidewell, (The voice of Krystal in Assault), when they were recording the voices for Assault, none of the other VA's were around, she did the recordings by herself. The only time she was with someone was with Jim Walker, (Fox's voice) for one particular scene.

Matrilwood
When I was doing Wolf Wars you never said all your lines in one hit. You would record one piece of dialog, save it, and record your next line in a separate file. You would then send all the files in a package (Which is like an uncompressed zip file) and the editor would insert your voices according to time. There was this one time where we recorded all in one hit and we were using Skyp to keep in sync.Really its no different to the way they do it for professional movies like Shreck and Appleseed.
