Asper Sarnoff
More of the same! So, whats your take on Peppy Hare? Do you like/dislike him, and why? What could have been better with him? And other things related to this character.Oh, and please people. Barrer-roll jokes are old.
Sol-Ratcht Saporro
DO A BARREL*shot*Okay beyond that freaking annoying line, I got a ton of respect for the old fogey. I mean he did ram the team's mother ship into a closing barrier and he nearly crashed his arwing diving down to save an old friend. He's just got a knack for saving lives huh? (Well in Assault) Since I guess, he's going to be in the sidelines advising, I hope to see a shift in focus more on his family life with Lucy and maybe some flashbacks on how he met Vivian. I also think he would do well as CDF's General.

Ris Grestar
I love Peppy. First, you must understand that. Now then. He's lived his course. He's done his part. He's been a great friend and mentor. With that said, I think he should have died when he crashed into the aparoid...thingy.

Guest FoXXX
I love Peppy and I want him to always be a part of SF, not like what they did in Command by making him a general I kinda like to have Peppy in the arwing for obvious reasons, but I don't mind him commanding the GF either :)
Scott7
How the Barrol roll thing ever became so popular is mystery, but other then that he's a pretty good character. Though can kind of ever do it when it comes to serious situations...

He is a nice wise mentor, and the father figure to the whole team, especially to Fox. Yeah, Command totally misused him (just like it did everyone else). He is getting kind of old for the Arwing though. I am perfectly fine with him being the team's navigator on board the Great Fox. And I would like to see it continue. On a separate note, when he said that he was going to retire after Assault, I personally don't believe he meant he was going to leave the Star Fox team. With that said, I think he should have died when he crashed into the aparoid...thingy.That would have terrible. Last thing we need is for ANOTHER character to have died an anticlimatic death in the travesty known as Starfox Assault.Anyway, Peppy is arguably my favorite character. He's the mentor, the veteran, he's old but he still kicks ass, and I really wish they weren't so damn eager to retire him as a "support" character. He has a ton of character potential too, considering:1: He's basically Fox's foster father since James died.2: He was James and Pigma's BFF3: He's known the McCloud family since he and James and Pigma were youngsters themselves. There's alot of potential to explore his relationships with everyone there, such as his feelings towards Pigma, the burden of watching over Fox, and such. There's also Lucy, who I want to see more of as well. Maybe he raised her and Fox at the same time? There's alot of possibilities. What would really kick ass is a prequel game starring James, Peppy and Pigma as the main cast.

As a side-note, I'd prefer Pigma stayed in the series as well, simply because there so much that lies between him, Fox and Peppy, that would make for some real tension in future games. Robert Monroe
I'm curious to know why you think that scene is anticlimactic.Because it comes assend out of nowhere as a cheap and uninspired trick to try and inspire drama in the player after shuffling through the last 9 crappy levels. It was a scare tactic. A copout. There was no build up, it just comes out of the blue. That is NOT how you write characters off.

It called for a spontaneous action which Peppy was the first to supply.I just don't see how him dying for the good of Lylat would've been all that bad. A device meant entirely just to try and kill off a well known character. It was just as poorly written as Peppy trying to kill himself. Its what we in the writing community like to call an asspull. But, I'd rather they have done that than actually played Peppy dying straight. Either way we get shitty writing, but at least this way we still got Peppy. rainfyre66
I like the Pepster, he's very important to the series. Though the whole "DO A BARRELL ROLL!" phenomena threatened to compromise his respectability a bit...
Samantha Weltzin
He's my favorite character to play in Assault's multiplayer because he's fast, jumps high, and charges his blaster at four times the normal rate. Sure, he's got little health, but if you jump enough you simply won't get hit.As far as his personality goes, I think he's still pretty awesome even when he's old. The fact that an old character is still doing stuff is actually fairly uncommon in any game, so that's one of the few areas where StarFox is different than most other games.
