Your take on: Panther Caruso

Time to take a look on Starwolfs newest pilot. If I'm going to judge by what I've heard people around the site say about him, he's among the most disliked characters in the franchise.

But what's your take on him? Do you dislike him, or think he's an allright character? And why?

Are you happy with his entry into the series? What could have been better about him? And everything else related to this character.

  To me he seems very dark and mysteroious almost like a male Krystal with a last name....  but what I do know about him is  he is defintly a gentleman,  a failing ladies man, a little too friendly and apparently likes good food.  PersonnLY have mixed feelings about him  I think he's a intersting character ,but his flirting with krystal makes me a little angry with him trying to break up Krystal and fox and since I don't consider command cannon I'm not going to get into that.

Personnly i also think Krystal dislikes him ,but just lives with him like in assault because of her kind character.

I find Panther interesting, he is bold with the things he says, like demanding a meal for his efforts in saving Cornaria lol. I think he is also bold for hitting on Krystal, like that little love sick puppy we all meet every once in awhile lol

I feel Panther has some good potential if used right. I would say he is a competent pilot. He is not a bad character and he is certainly a better StarWolf team member than those pieces of scum, Andrew and Pigma. In Assault it seemed to me that he did not directly make any real attempts on Krystal, and most of what he said to her seemed more in the way of complements than actual hitting.

In fact he might even already know that her feelings are for Fox and not him. Case in point, during the Corneria mission when Panther asks Krystal if she would like to ride on his wing. Krystal responds with, "As long as I'm covering Fox." Panther replies back with, "Heh heh. Okay. Fine." and the tone in his voice kind of backs it up IMO.

As I have said in a couple other posts, if Miyu is brought back to the franchise, pairing her with Panther (just like with Bill and Fay ) could make some interesting plot development. As well as putting an end to the relation with him and Krystal, and of course giving StarWolf an even number of pilots with StarFox.

Like others have said, Panther has potential if used it the right way, but so does most of the other characters.  I'm certain he won't be with Krystal for the long haul because she can see right though the facade he puts out for her.

Panther is amazing. He's a cheesy Zorro character that's always good for at least a lol.

Not to mention he could easily be one of the most badass characters in the series.

Anyway, I think Panther's just a sort of comic relief with a huge gun. There isn't much to him, and he makes me laugh a bit. I -would- like him to back up his "All who see my rose meet death," since his rose is plastered on the side of his arwing.

Maybe he just means "Everyone will die someday."

Ah, Panther. The most universally-hated character since Slippy, and for a hell of alot less good reason oo (Krystal).

Panther has had a pretty consistant character so far in the two games he's shown up in. Flashy, arrogant, and flirtatious. Milky hits it right on the head: he's a space Zorro.

I really want to see more of the guy. I always saw him as a former rich kid whose family lost it all, so he became a gentleman thief/bandit. In space. Wooing the ladies and talking people's stuff, he's a charming, lovable scoundrel. Accordingly to Nintendo, he also seems to be a man who easily falls in love, not just looking for sex or what have you, but true romance, even if he's gone through who knows how many women. Maybe he is built off the Shaksperean archetype, a romantic whose in love with love itself, or maybe its the women who leave him. Who knows! Perhaps Krystal can set him straight, perhaps not. Other than that, there isn't much to say about him. he's arguably the only good thing to happen in Starfox Assault.

Why is this? I pointed out in another topic how Fox doesn't really have anything over Panther in deserving her other than saving her, which Panther would do as well.

Fox and Krystal are indeed a perfect match, because they're both made of cardboard.

What has Fox done, exactly, that puts him so above Panther? Why can't Panther have a shot at love?

Fox got hurt in Command because he was a dumbass. Krystal doesn't even DATE Panther in Command, its just implied it happens if he joins Starwolf.

Fox and Krystal never admit they love each other except for select Command endings. Your logical is flawed, your evidence false. There are no boundaries, and if Fox was truly worried about Panther he'd tell him to buzz off. Which he doesn't.
