PS3 Slim

Hey! It's DarthDelgado. Though most of you know me as That guy who lurks in The Arcade. I've got big news! I just upgraded to a PS3 Slim. It's amazing. It's smaller, it feels better, and it probably won't collect dust as easily! I'm just very excited. I might even put up a few pictures soon. You can also ask me any questions you might have about the system.

I heard it can't play PS2 games.

Yeah, only the original 40, 60, and maybe the 80gb could play ps2 games.  I got lucky with mine! :D

AWESOME!! The not collecting dust as easy is a MAJOR plus!! How loud is the fan on it? Also, some pictures would be awesome :D.

Guess what?  I still have the original PS3 but mine is the the 160 GB!  So, I really don't care what the deal is with the 'slims' nowadays, but the originals are just as good.  Well, we'll see if the 360 slim is 'better'  lol

I never switched versions, infact i just gave mine another chance today. Played somewhere close to 4 staight hours of Warhawk, which i know isn't exactly healthy but really don't have much else to do other then sit here and wait for replies on forums all day...

And i don't plan on switching any time soon.

Actually you can mod PS3's to play PS2 games. A friend of mine did that to his and he even had proof. But,are the slims cheaper or are they the same price as a normal PS3?

1. The only reason I upgraded was because my fat ps3 started malfunctioning.

2. PS3 Slims are 299. They also stopped selling fat ps3s at stores.

3. Its ninja quiet.

I have a 250 GB Slim. :) I like it. I was going to trade my brother for his 60 GB original, for the backwards compatibility,  then I realized I could mod it. |D

I know! You could for Bob and Son Dishwashing Company! Work from 6 AM to 5:59 AM and get paid a whopping $2.50 per 24 hours! (Do the math, it's funny.)

Back to PS3 slim. Connecting to the internet is smoother, and downloads are faster.

Or you could have a PS2, also. They aren't that expensive, last I heard. I happen to have two PS2's, so I don't care much about backwards compatibility.

And actually, original PS3's with backwards compatibility can fetch quite a hefty sum, I saw some going for $800+ now, simply because of backwards compatibility.

I personally love the look of the older PS3.. Mine is BWC and has 4 USB ports and the Card Readers. I wouldn't ever buy a slim PS3.

I agree, the older PS3s looked better, but the slim has this certain quality to it... I don't know I should be posting some pictures soon.

My 250gb slim doesn't seem too flimsy, I'm actually more afraid handling my Xbox than the PS3. PS3 seems to be rugged enough.

I dropped a fat PS2 on concrete one fatefull day, it worked perfectly. The Slim PS3 is far more advanced. That also includes strength.

It is a beast to say the least. I know mine is. About the PS2, I know that much, mine is broken, and I don't have much room to store systems, especially because I'm moving away for college soon, so, backwards compatibility is good.

its really just alot easier just tap the Print Screen key (or Prt Scr on my keyboard) and then press paste in paint to get a good screen shot for a PC.

Nice images btw.

 D'OH!!

I also forgot to include handheld consoles. I have a PSP, a DS, a GB Advance SP, and an old GB that doesn't work.
