Anna, by now, was helping Gearhart to his feet. He was in pretty bad condition, and by the time he was to his feet, quite a bit of his blood stained her hands, mixing with the green that the creature left. She said nothing, only staring into his eyes in panic between frantic glances at the creature, unsure of Kage's fate.

Kage, still being mauled by the creature, began to twist the knife that was still embedded in the base of the creatures neck, it wasn't Zeke anymore, it was a monster that was threatening his life, and therefore, must be destroyed "Grab my gun and shoot it!" He barked, half screaming in pain from the beating he was taking.

Anna held onto Gearhart's hands, hesitating. She had never held a gun before, much less knew how to aim and fire safely. She stood helplessly, waiting for someone else to take up the task.

Gearhart couldn't move, and his heavy body was now only being stabilized by Anna. But, he knew someone had to save Arashikage, but he couldn't move, nor could he aim well with a gun.

Coughing, Gearhart looked to Anna. "A-Anna... Drop me here, and take his gun. It's too strong for us now, there is no saving Zeke."

"Is that Zeke?", Steve asked, staring at the creature. It had looked oddly familiar, but it has changed. "Are you sure we can't do anything 'bout him?" He backed away almost immediately, readying his sword again in case he had to defend himself.

Guest Mr. Mario

"Are you sure a gun is going to inflict some damage to Zeke? You know there could be a chance he won't feel any pain." Norman said, knowing that though he couldn't stop Anna or anyone from killing Zeke, it was already too late...or maybe there is still some hope. Norman tried to look around in the bay to find a weapon that is more of a close-range assault weapon, he couldn't seem to find anything in here...until he saw a crowbar in one of the escape pods that was destroyed.

Freya was still hanging on to The Thing for dear life. As it thrashed around and lashed out, she nearly lost her grip, and stuck her boot into one of the many mouths to keep her balance.

"We have to kill him!" she cried, and buried her thumbs into its eyes. It was the only way she could help her friends, but by god it was disgusting.

Anna held onto Gearhart, staring at the gun. She'd hit Freya. She just knew she would. But otherwise Freya was going to get herself killed...

She gently let Gearhart down, and picked up the rifle. She took aim, using classic movie poses for reference, and hesitated. The barrel of the weapon was shaking in an intensity mirroring the rest of her body. Everything seemed to be running in slow motion.

"Please, please god don't let me hit Freya..."

She pulled the trigger, yelping as a burst of shots were fired from the weapon rather than the single shot she somewhat expected.

Kage watched in between getting pummeled as the bullets made impact, 'Yeah, that's it!  Show him who's boss!' He thought, but he never said a word, only a few pained grunts exiting his mouth, he couldn't speak anymore, not at the moment, that monster knocked the wind right out of him.

The thing's strength began to visibly waver.  With relentless assault upon assault, it would need to find a new host as soon as possible, but for now, the only thing it wanted was escape.  It began to shake violently, attempting to toss off the one holding onto its back.  The barrage of bullets and hits from seemingly all directions were beginning to damage it heavily; it would need time to recover, or to find a new body quickly.  It slammed itself into walls repeatedly, hoping to relieve the burden that was Freya, while simultaneously attempting to avoid more attack.

Kage was beginning to black out, taking all these hits as he continued to get mauled, all he could really do was allow his body to go limp and take it until the thing decided to leave him alone, if it should ever do so, or until someone kills it.

Steve didn't know what to do. He is almost near panic, and backed a bit from Zeke. As a precaution, he slashed on its arm, leaving a bloody cut similar to what he had done to its leg. He converted his force sword into his stinger, and hit zeke on the other leg, attempting to stun him.

Freya could hear gunshots, and felt the impact of the bullets on her unwilling steed. She tensed up, readying herself for an accidental shot, but it never happened.

As she prepared to jump off of the Thing, its movements suddenly changed, and it began to swing its shoulders and arms around. It was trying to get rid of her. It thundered towards a concrete wall, slamming its shoulder, and Freya, into it. The cat girl gasped as the air was forced out of her lungs, and she lost her grip, falling onto the ground. She did her best to crawl away from the monster, and propped herself against a nearby pod. Her arms were immediately bruised, and judging from the pain in her back, so were her shoulders. She didn't want to move for a long, long time.

Gearhart didn't know much anymore as his senses were overloading, and making him only able to see blurred objects, as well as do nothing but lay down on the floor. He was happy that Anna set him down nicely, but he was worried that the essence taking command of Zeke's body was about to escape. He didn't know what to do. The young wolf had taken enough injury, and couldn't even operate a third of his body, or think straight no less. Gearhart simply rested his eyes, closing them as he panted, hoping that things would turn out alright.

As Zeke rampaged Freya onto the wall, Steve was hit by its claws and now Steve has three cuts across his left arm, and his weapon flew out of his hands. Thinking he'd waste seconds getting back his weapon, he turned around, raising his left arm, and pushed Zeke, hard, to the floor, his hands on its throat. He backed away almost immediately, as pushing Zeke into the floor cost him his right kneecap, as someone's gun hit him.

Anna cursed violently as she shot Steve, ceasing the gun fire. She noticed that everyone around her was blacking out or collapsing, and she wondered just how she managed to stay standing this long. All of the monster's targets were incapacitated except for her, and a feeling of despair rushed over her. It was only a matter of time before it came after her unopposed, and she only prayed that it chose to run away instead.

Steve looked around. The only one capable of fighting was the firing one. He is still capable, although his weapon is some feet away from him. Plus, he has cuts across his left arm and a bloody wound on his right knee. He crawled fast, but careful, towards his weapon, to a last attempt of knocking Zeke or subduing him. He awsn't ready to kill yet.

It had finally relieved itself of the troublesome burden that the group of targets referred to as "Freya".  Now, all of its attention was focused on a fight or flight scenario; it had already taken care of what it thought needed to be done, and knew the time was now for escape.  It would come back soon to finish them off, and it promised itself that.  Glancing around once again it noticed that only two remained in somewhat serviceable condition.  It emitted a shatteringly loud roar before moving at a lightning pace down the halls into darkness.  Only a faint green trail of the mysterious liquid, and the carnage around the area remained.  Against one of the far walls was a worn holster, most likely what Zeke had been carrying prior to infection.  It still held a .45 handgun.

(That bit actually saddened me, so touching.)

Freya coughed, and hacked up the contents of her stomach, which contained slithers of blood. Her ribs were throbbing and felt extremely hot, which meant that at least one was probably broken. She wiped her mouth with the back of her hand, and gazed at the mess The Thing had left in its wake. Of all its opponents, Gearheart was worst off, bleeding excessively from several open wounds. Kage was passed out from the level of pain he was enduring, Steve was pretty cut up, and Anna...

Oh my god... her face...

Anna looked as though she had received the worst news one can ever be told. She had a sense of despair about her, and Freya wanted more than anything to hug her comrades. But she couldn't. A couple of tears escaped her eyes, eventually dripping off her chin. She had no idea why she was crying, but she knew for a fact that she had the right to.

Anna stared down the hallway for a moment before collapsing to her knees and dropping the gun. Luckily, it did not discharge, but Anna was in no way to think about that. She looked around her. The room was pretty bloody, as were most of the bodies in it, including her own. She wasn't particularly sure if she was injured, she ached but there was no way to tell if any of the blood on was actually her's. She surveyed the room, scanning over everyone. She was afraid to move, anybody could have been dead by now. Freya was audibly sobbing, so she started with her, crawling toward her friend slowly.

"Are you okay...?"

Freya looked up into her friend's face. She could see her own reflection in the hyeness' large, mirror-like eyes. She looked exhausted.

"... I'm so fucking glad you're okay," she wheezed, and threw her arms around her companion.

Anna swallowed hard, beginning to cry a little herself. She returned the hug for several seconds before letting her go again.

"I'm sorry, I have to make sure everyone else is okay, too. Can you stand? Are you hurt...?"

Gearhart's eyes were still closed, panting a bit more heavily as he tried forgetting about all the pain. My... My med kit... In the corner... He thought, panting still as he could feel his body bleeding, not sure if his condition was fatal, or if it was just his arm and head acting up, causing him to think that.

Freya pushed herself up, and onto her feet. She was in too much pain to straighten her back, so she remained hunched, with an arm across her chest.

"I'm fine," she replied. She glanced over in Gearheart's direction. She took a limp towards him, eager to thank him for protecting everyone.

"They all fought so hard. I really don't want to see anyone die... but Gearheart has lost a lot of blood. We have to fix his wounds."

The mercenary let out a soft groan as he looked up.  His left arm was immobile, possibly dislocated, cuts and scrapes littered his body, crimson blood flowing from the wounds on his chest, arms, legs, and back.  He was in terrible shape, his vision blurry, shellshocked from the hard blows he took, the groan was all he could manage to say.  He then put his head back down, deciding it was best just to stay put.
