In particular I don't believe in reincarnation or the after life.A common question when someone doesn't have faith is "Why do you live?" the idea being that life is just a tempory bit of unplesantness in between whatever you believe the soul does the rest of the time.The typical answer is 'love' or 'joy'. I have neither so that means I need a new answer. 'Hope' is often used but that is just meaningless new age crap. It's like the power of heart in captain planet. I also like doing things I find entertaining, like reading, writing, gaming, walking on my hands, etc., and I also assume I can't do those activities once I shuffle off this mortal coil. So basically, I live because I don't want to die.As for your 'hope is new age crap' thing, not necessarily. Sure, lots of people will use it in such a way that it is just a bunch of meaningless crap, but perhaps, in your case, you could live for the hope that eventually you find 'joy' and 'love'. But just maybe.You sure this is a wise topic to make?
