Questions for The Starfox Fans!

So I've been a fan, since I was about 5 years old when Starfox 64 came out. No word of a lie! & I was so excited when I heard that they were making Starfox Adventures, but utterly disappointed when I didn't get a gamecube until 9 years later! Anyway I loved Adventures(despite the various plot holes) & I loved Assault ( Mostly the story and the graphics) & I nearly puked when I played Starfox command but thats not what I'm getting at.

So during all this time I was writing stories and creating characters, as if I was in charge of making the games. Many ideas have sprung out over the years and I've decided to ask you guys, whether or not these ideas would make the games better & what not. Soo here they are!

1. Would you enjoy Starfox as an RPG (Role-playing-Game), You'd be able to select any race (or species rather) all your skills, like perception, guns, melee, sneak.., your personality and everything you did changed the story & its ending (not for Wii)

2. A more mature game, like with blood and guts. Ya know, for us hardcore gamers! (Ps3 & Xbox)

3. A Game that has a very interesting and deep story line, full of conspiracies, mysteries and would continue on into the next game.(Ps3,Xbox, PC)

4. A Shooter game ( like Call of Duty ) (Ps3, Xbox & PC)

5. Have Rare Rewrite the story and have it done with consistency

6. A variation of these & or something you guys have in mind!

7. Leave it!

All ideas are welcome, I just feel the series needs a change!

First off....

Star Fox could never be on PS3/360

Second, Rare would never deal with Star Fox again, because they are with Microsoft.

So, none of these really make any sense....

I like the 3rd idea best.

Maybe a sequel to the GCN series that retcons Command. That'd be a great way to debut Star Fox on 360! k_e_smile.gif

Or even work with Point Five and rewrite the GCN Trilogy to add more depth to it and stuff.

Star Fox 360: The Krystal Chronicles

That'd be sweet.

EDIT: I also like the idea of an RPG in the SF universe. But it would need to have a more detailed storyline and world to pull from. Which is why it'd have to come after an initial game or three.

1. No, keep it a space shooter. RPGs are gay.

2. Nah, SF is violent enough.

3. Sure, just as long as it doesn't suck.

4. No. CoD sucks, we don't need SF to follow in its footsteps.

5. Heck no, the story was doing fine up until SFC came along.

6. Another SF game that starts where Assault left off, make it more SF64-like

7. wat

Yes, the series needs a change, start that by disregarding SFC and making a new game that is more original. I don't like the idea of SF64 3D. We've been waiting 5+ years for a new game. Nobody wants a remake.

Star Fox 360: The Krystal Chronicles

This would be a nightmare. Also, is your avatar a descendant of Falco and Katt?

I would personally not like it to be a RPG, but the idea of creating your own character would be nice. Keep it the way it is, but if they had like an online multiplayer, custom character and skill points used to obtain weapons, armor, abilities, or other items would be cool. but not on Wii. fuck that. It better be on a Nintendo platform, or it ain't Starfox

2. A more mature game, like with blood and guts. Ya know, for us hardcore gamers! (Ps3 & Xbox)

Ok. FUCK THIS STUPID SHIT. What makes you think that all hardcore gamers are just gamers that like blood and guts? You might as well just say anyone who's played the Saw games is hardcore. Hardcore gamers are the gamers that play the games that made the developer a household name. You don't need blood and guts to make a game hardcore (Look at Capcom's Street Fighter.) Anyway, to answer your question, a mature Starfox can't be taken seriously. You might as well call it "Furries in Space" if that's what you're going for.

3. A Game that has a very interesting and deep story line, full of conspiracies, mysteries and would continue on into the next game.(Ps3,Xbox, PC)

Again. STARFOX BELONGS TO NINTENDO for fuck's sake! As for storyline, fix plotholes first.

4. A Shooter game ( like Call of Duty ) (Ps3, Xbox & PC)

You know what. FUCK CALL OF DUTY. I see where this is going (keep it 3rd person.)

5. Have Rare Rewrite the story and have it done with consistency

Screw Rare. You know as soon as the game seeks another developer, they're just gonna seize all rights to the characters that were created under their supervision. (Look at DK Country Returns)

6. A variation of these & or something you guys have in mind!

STARFOX BELONGS TO NINTENDO

FIX PLOTHOLES

IN DEPTH STORY

DON'T GO OVERBOARD WITH BLOOD AND GORE

AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST

...

...

...

...

FIX THE GAMEPLAY

First of all, why would it be a "nightmare"?

Second, what the hell is with the shot at my art?! I may not be the best, but I damn well try!

If it was, then I humbly apologize. I just figured he meant me, as he was quoting me and replying to me in the same sentence.

no, no... no. I meant if they were to happen, would you play it.:hehe:

1. No my avatar does not have anything to do with Falco or Katt

2. Cod does suck, I just used it as an example

3. Microsoft is xbox..not nintendo

4. Use your imagination, if it "were" to happen. I know it probably wouldn't cause the series is going to shit

Also this form wasn't meant for a debate. Just ideas

>Microsoft having rights to SF

I'd rather have SFC as a part of the canon than for this to happen. If you've ever played Banjo-Kazooie and then played Nuts&Bolts, you'd understand what I'm talking about.

Second, what the hell is with the shot at my art?! I may not be the best, but I damn well try!

Sorry, I was referring to OP's avatar. I was tired when I posted this. Even if I was referring to you, I didn't say anything bad. You got defensive really quick. :o

Heck, I'd like to see a Lylat Wars 2. That would be a very interesting game indeed.

Same type of genre, space shooting as the first, with added graphics and improved gameplay.

Do not forget to barell roll!!

Since this is a topic PURELY for "what-if's", I'll not say how unlikely or impossible it is for any of this to happen. Much of it is a given.

1. Would you enjoy Starfox as an RPG (Role-playing-Game), You'd be able to select any race (or species rather) all your skills, like perception, guns, melee, sneak.., your personality and everything you did changed the story & its ending (not for Wii)

It would be an interesting breakaway from the classic Starfox Gameplay, and if done well, could really be an very popular game. We're all familiar with the success of games like Oblivion, or Dragon Age, and games like Fallout show us that they don't neccesarily have to be Fantasy for an RPG to do well. This would be a very interesting thing to see, though Nintendo doesn't exactly have the biggest history in this department - PS3, XBox and PC would all be more "standard" platforms for a game like this, but if Nintendo could manage to get this on the Wii, it would give them a game in a genre that they really don't have ANYTHING in. Turn-based RPG's they have enough of, but...

2. A more mature game, like with blood and guts. Ya know, for us hardcore gamers! (Ps3 & Xbox)

I didn't read all of the responses here yet, but it has been said before and I'll say it again: "Hardcore Gamers" does not mean they crave gore. That has nothing to do with it. Simply put, Blood and Guts would be out of place in a Star Fox game, no matter how dark they attempt to make the setting and storyline. It just doesn't work. The closest thing they've ever come to "blood" was that little red flashy effect when you hit something with your staff in Adventures. I really can't imagine a Star Fox game with gore, and frankly I don't want to.

3. A Game that has a very interesting and deep story line, full of conspiracies, mysteries and would continue on into the next game.(Ps3,Xbox, PC)

Absolutely. The story is what attracts me to most games I play, so the deeper it goes, the happier I am, as it means I have all the more story to absorb, to learn, to see and experience. One of my greatest passions has been the incredibly vast, deep lore of the Warcraft universe, and in particular the lore that has built up over the course of the games themselves, the historical events that the players helped to shape and unfold. To be able to do this with Star Fox in a deep storyline to explore in a game would be an excellent experience.

4. A Shooter game ( like Call of Duty ) (Ps3, Xbox & PC)

While I'm leery of making a Star Fox style Call of Duty/Modern Warfare/Whatever clone (see: whole-heartedly against), I do think a first-person Star Fox shooter could be an interesting game, if done right. Hell, look at Oblivion, and this could even be mixed with the first option.

5. Have Rare Rewrite the story and have it done with consistency

No. As much as people might like the thought of giving the game series back to the minds of Rare, that ship has sailed. Rare works for Microsoft now, and while I said that I would avoid making this sort of statement, Star Fox is a Nintendo game, and Rare no longer works with them, being with Microsoft now. The only way this would happen is for Nintendo to sell the Star Fox series, which ain't gonna happen. I do agree that the story needs to be written consistently. Whoever happens to be writing the games' stories needs to pay attention to the existing lore and respect it, and not contradict it, but rather build on it. Expand it.

I, too, was tired, and get very defensive when my art is insulted. Put two and two together and it doesn't turn out well

Guest Mr. Nintendo

1. No, not in the form of Pokemon but insted: Megaman Legends

2. Uhh...I don't really know, I don't think Nintendo would go beyond the rating.

3. No other console is going to get it. IT'S A NINTENDO FRANCHISE

4. You're kidding right?

5. Face it, Rare's never going to work with Nintendo again unless it's a handheld title. (It's part of Microsoft's deal)

6. Nothing really...except maybe make a prequal featuring James McCloud and Vixie.

I like the prequal Idea! Maybe find out what actually happens...

I like your response. Why cause its a mature way to pan out your ideas, not get upset cause I merely had "ideas of what if" Anyway I agree with number 1. if done right it could be a good game but I know this isnt something nintendo would do, but it would be a neat game.

2. I meant hardcore cause , well thats just what I mean with blood and guts and I tottaly agree that its something that nintendo wouldnt necessarily do and starfox isnt that type of game. but thats why i asked if anyone was interested.

Skip four cause i think we all want a epic story :P

5. I know rare is with microsoft but I gotta say I really enjoyed adventures. It would be nice if they did get a chance to do it, but again its a "what if"

but honestly in my mind a redo will save the series, feel free to argue that.
