FoxMcCloud
Recently a friend of mine who keeps up in the gaming world showed me a game called Black Prophecy. The game looks Bada$$. Though the game is in beta, and is Free to play right now. It looks like a mixture of Eve and Freespace. The game looks to mix the Awe-inpiring graphics of Eve online, and the awesome space combat of Freespace. The Video is included below: Another trailer is here If you are interested, it is in a closed beta, so accounts are activated in Batches. I registered a few days ago, and I am still waiting to get an account activated, and it might even take longer. I highly recommend this game even just to try it out, so register here: http://blackprophecy.gamigo.com/ I am highly interested in the game, so if you have any questions just ask me, and ill answer them ASAP

It is currently on a closed beta. You can apply for an account, and it is currently free to play. Though you do have to wait for a Beta key to be activated, though you can easily look around at some contests, and email a few people. I was able to get a key myself by emailing a site, and they sent me one within a few days. I am currently playing the game, and if Shadows of Lylat can become just like this... then OH MY GAWD Epic Win! Piloting the ship with the Keyboard and Mouse is definitely the best way to play the game. On the forums others have been having problems with Joysticks not working, and there are many bugs in the games, but that is what a beta is for ^^ Reporting problems and patches getting released. Anyways here is a screenshot, its the loading screen, but I hope to have more up soon

FoxMcCloud
Yay! Set your phasers to fun (yeah, that was lame), gamigo has given us a bunch of keys for the Black Prophecy North American Closed Beta. If you would like to take part in the beta simply email jube@ve3d.com for a key and instructions. Since the game has already launched in Europe, and it's free-to-play, this is for North American space cadets only. If you want the play the game. For our United States players. Download the US client, if you live in Europe, you must download the EU client. That quote above was taken from a site where I emailed to receive one of the beta key giveaways. She might have more, then again she might not. Your best chance is to email her and see if she has any if not, you will have to wait awhile for your account to be activated with BP as they only send Beta Keys in batches. Cobalt
Hell of a game, really, if they can fix the lag (It's largely unplayable in its current state) and make the controls a lot less floaty. I don't feel like there's any precision to my movements at all. Which, in a game like this, those are paramount. Also, the game touts itself as having an incredible plot written by a critically acclaimed SciFi writer... That may be - I haven't seen much of it yet - but the voice acting is pretty awful, and the transcripts on the subtitles are hilariously inaccurate at best and indecipherable at worst. Now, I realize it's still a beta, but they put a lot of effort into advertising how epic this plot was going to be. You'd think that'd be a very high focal point for the developers, even at the beta stage. Also I hate the word frak and I don't ever want to hear it again, which is a shame because you'll hear it about 54,000 times per minute when in dogfights with opposing factions. NOW, all that said, I reiterate my first statement. This is a hell of a game and it shows remarkable potential. The fact that it's such a high caliber game and free to boot is very exciting to me, having come from games of a somewhat similar genre called Ace Online and Air Rivals. In my opinion once they overcome the technical details this game will become ten times what AR could have and should have been.
