Judgement Day

Recommended Posts

Hello, this is Sluggsnipa, and I wish I could be giving you a less important note, but if you are a believer of the Abrahamic religions (Christianity,Islam, and Judaism),you know what tomorrow may mean...

Judgement day.

According to some pastors, the world will end on 6pm,tomorrow,May 21st.

I am a religious fellow,I pray to God every night, during the day,and I believe he is my ruler,my lord, and my shining way.

I have regrets,I have not been a nice guy,and I fee that I have a need to confess and apologize for everyone I've wronged,in hopes of not having to witness the rapture first-hand.

I do not know if it will happen, but still,I am going to regret the life I may leave behind,I have not lived my life according to God's way,but I consider myself to be a good person.

If the Rapture may come,so be it,weather I will be united with God in Heaven or I will remain on Earth, even if the world doesn't end,I wish to redeem myself for my sins.

Who knows, life could go on as usual,or I may finally be able to meet you all in Heaven,or another plane of reality,or purgatory (limbo). Who knows?

Ok,say the world was ending...

Do you regret the life you lived?

If we're still alive on the day after tomorrow,we'll know.

^That is how many facepalms I need to express how stupid I find this!

First off, this came out of nowhere from this random preacher(s) just choosing some random date.

Second, I'm a Christian. I love God and and believe that Jesus died on the cross for sinners. So, I've read the Bible a good amount of course.

God clearly ststes in Revelation that the point of Judgement Day/Rapture or whatever you must call it is that we don't know when it is. Only He knows. A real Christian should know this information. These preachers just put together some bullcrap math and expect people to believe it. They said 1994. Did it happen? No. What makes 2011 so different?

Finally, some Christians say that the world will be flooded again.... ahem? Did you not pay attention to God's promise to never completely flood the world ever again????

It's all lies, and I can't wait for May 22. :)

They aren't?

Mods, lock this topic, and by judging Deploy's post, this will turn into a flamewar of epic proportions.

I am confuse. What is the religious significance of May 21st 2011? Derpaderpa.

Also, Deploy, your post was immature as fuck and uncalled for. Religious discussions are allowed, but they have to be mature and civilized.

Finally, I ultimately have no thoughts on the rapture. I'm a Christian by definition (that is to say I'm a Christ-follower) but I don't get the obssession with judgement day. If it happens, it happens. There isn't exactly a whole lot ANYone can do about it, Christian or not. There's much worse to worry and fret over than the day everyone goes back to chill with God or whatever. Furthermore, Christians who worry if they won't get into Heaven make me lol. The entire concept of being a Christian (ie accepting Christ) is so you go into heaven, so if you're worried about not making the cut then you aren't as much of a Christian as you thought you were.

And using the f-bomb is completely mature and civilized. Quite the contradiction....

I didn't do anything immature of uncivilized. I just stated my opinions.

frankly..I'm Christian and even so I don't believe in myths like this. Its like I said in a conversation with someone. Will the world eventually be ended by natural causes? Yeah--but not for a long time. Hell, we might not even be around to see it happen due to one of two reasons.

1. Humanity will have by then found a way off the planet and maybe colonized on a world extremely similar to Earth.

2. We'll all have gone the way of the dinosaurs long beforehand.

It's that simple, honestly.

Tactical f-bomb strike. I'm calling you out on your bullshit. Your immaturity is expressed in your inability to share your opinion without using a giant goddamn facepalm image macro and lots of ALLCAPS. Grow up some kiddo.

Also this topic needs to be moved to the mature discussion area, not the Lounge.

Heh. Its okay that you're devoted to that. Great, nothing bad about it. But just becasue its a special type of day, doesnt mean the world is going to end. In my opinion, when days like this are said to be" the end of the world" or \something like that, i always think of the 1999 computer super freakout scenario. Everyone thought every computer in the world was going to crash when 2000 came along. when it did, nothing happend, and im sure EVERYONE felt like a bunch of fools.

I think of this day like that. Nothing is going to happen. Cool off man, we will all be fine.

So did they ever specify 6 o'clock in which time zone? I have stuff to do tomorrow and don't want my plans to get screwed up because they predicted doomsday in like Atlantic time or something.

You seriously need to calm down about it.

I thought I needed facepalms, you didn't. Fine. Plus, this is really my first time adding something moderately long in a discussion thread (although it's in the lounge)... Cool down about it, bro.

And I fixed the All Caps part if it makes you feel any better. But you'll probably just get angry at this response, too... *sigh*

ITT: Mass Panic, False Prophecies, and Facepalms Galore.

8 hours till the end!?!?! Quick! Get the red cups.

I seriously doubt the end of the world can be predicted. Look at 94, and Y2K. We're still here. Plus, I have a feeling that the world will either never end, or end in a completely different generation.

Something tells me that this religious fucknut here . . .

. . . is gonna have a field day if we're here on the 22nd

Ease down Deploy and Rob. Huge facepalm pics and CAPS-cruise is unnecesary, but I've also seen Robert resort to them a couple of times if memory serves.

As for myself. I've never believed in, and most probably never will, believe in any doomsday profecies without hard, undeniable proof. Ex, giant space roack scheduled to hit earth at exact that and that time.

Also, topic moved.

It would be by European time, not American time, for obvious reasons. If we assume 6PM by Jerusalem time, then the world will end in exactly... 45 minuets ago.

Yeah, but not in religion/political discussions. Macros and allcaps are fine when we're being whiny babies about Krystal, not so much on a actually sensitive subject.

If you believe in this shit I feel bad for you son, I got 99 problems but doomsday aint one.

Ooooook can't believe i just quoted that. Anyway, one more back and forth and this is locked. kthxbai

Also, its a load of shit from a preacher who is perpetuating the fear of doomsday because he says he can math stuff from the bible. Hurr f-ing durr.

Glad to see somebody who claims to be a Christian actually says stuff that are true. There are so many churches out there that do not tell the truth it makes me sick.
