East Coasters: Stay Safe

DZComposer

Recommended Posts

This is going to be a rough weekend for the US East Coast.

If you live over there, please heed warnings your local officials give. Evacuate if you need to.

If you aren't leaving, have emergency supplies, don't drive on flooded roads, and please don't venture out in the storm.

Keep safe, I don't want anything to happen to any of you.

Thanks, DZ, that actually means quite a bit! :D

Coastal evacuations have already started around NYC along with a declared state of emergency and the shutting down of subways and most mass-transit, I guess I'll see how things will play out O_o

They already have my Search and Rescue team along with the rest in New York mobilized and ready to go do Disaster relief if necessary. Hopefully the storm is not bad, but keep safe everyone!!

How is it that I haven't even heard of Irene? :o I've been wanting a good hurricane and this just goes right over my head.

I'm on the Gulf Coast, so I guess we'll be all right.

But yeah, stay safe, everyone! :)

I'll be working right through that storm because the Home Depot doesn't give a shit.

That's because places like Home Depot make a killing in the weeks before a major hurricane strikes. Sales of softwood lumber and plywood go through the roof as people wish to board up their windows, etc.

Indeed! I will enjoy my first commute to work after a relatively minor snowstorm that dumps 20 inches of snow in a 24 hour period. Rain, thunderstorms, and wind? Pffft...massive blizzards is where it's at! :P

I've heard of it, yet I don't really care. I will spare you a long winded rant on the matter. It comes down to being reasonable, the lack of common sence in most people and the flaws of news.

If your into overtime/hazard pay, I'd imagine you could make a killing.

Well, that didn't end up telling us shit, really. But I'm going to assume I agree with you, at least a little bit. I'm right in the middle of the hurricane, and I don't give much of a shit :/

I'm A- suprised he hasn't heard of it, and B- I feel the hype is overblown, and C- if you really need to be told not to run around outside during a hurricane, then I'd just leave you to it.

I honestly didn't know about this until last night, but after I saw what Katrina did, I know that hurricanes are some scary crap.

Stay safe everyone. As my family motto says, "Don't get dead."

(Thank god I live in Missouri. :-P ..........well except for tornadoes and blizzards.)

Good luck guys. Us west coasters will sit and watch the show from the comfort of our nice, cool, air conditioned homes in sunny weather.

No. For serious, please don't get yourselves hurt, listen to your officials, don't do drugs, look both ways before you cross an-

Well, stay safe. I'm with SFR here, don't get dead. :D

Hum... Seems we'll have a bit of rain and wind here after all! :P

I guess I'll still still have to be somewhat cautious in the end... ^_^

It's better safe than sorry. After Katrina, no one wants to take chances (incidentally, I had to leave during the downtime in Katrina when it hit Florida because we had no food; because it wasn't anticipated at that point that the storm was as bad as it was).

All you guys stay safe!~

Hurricanes really aren't that scary if you're prepared. The only reason Katrina caused as much damage as it did is because the levies in New Orleans were un-cared for and broke. Then again, maybe as a Gulf-Coaster, I'm a little jaded to hurricanes, especially Category 1's. (I know it's supposed to strengthen, you don't have to tell me)

Unfortunately for New York, they've never had one before, so if you're in the area watch out for "THE SKY IS FALLING" types, and use your head. :) And if they order mandatory evacuations, please listen. :P

I hope everyone is doing okay! I was pestering Xort to be careful and he was all like "I'M INVINCIBLE, WHATEVER." -_- XD

And I was right. We had a few, almost unnoticeable power blinks and nothing else. Totally invincible, I am.

She was a hurricane when she hit us. I'm right on the coast where it came onto land.

Irene was apparently turned off by me not working as nothing really happened... I bet if I didn't call out, she'd be dangerous.

Just a bit of wind and rain during the day... ^_^

So no worries!
