Hey, all! I'll be adding onto this as I go. I'm still working out the bugs in a few characters, so they'll be up later.

jolene.thumb.jpg.31977d111b55c5b4715e271

Name: Jolene Wilder

Age: 24

Race: African Wild Dog

Origin: Born on Katina; grew up on Titania

Home: None/Planet hopper

Sex: Female

Family: Mathias and Jordan Wilder (parents)

Appearance:

Mottled gold, tan and black coat, dark muzzle, bright white tail tip, amber eyes, white dappled forearms and calves, large round ears with notches in them. Jolene stands at 5'7" and has an athletic build. She wears an olive green tank top, dark jeans, and sturdy dark brown work boots. She will wear a loose darker green button-up shirt over her tank when appropriate, and she wears a red bandana as her only accessory, either as a headband, neck kerchief, or tied around her wrist.

Personality:

Jolene is fairly easy-going and adaptable to most situations. She's more of a "roll with the punches" type of personality and is very independent. She's amiable to others and polite by default. She likes to make people laugh and can be rather sarcastic and witty when she's in a good mood. She's loyal to friends, but she has difficulty trusting others in a team setting and often will try to do as much work as she can to ensure she'll be able to manage on her own "just in case". To enemies, she is cold and uncaring to a fault. Once you have broken her trust, it is almost impossible to earn back.

Background:

Jolene was born in a military base on Katina, but she spent most of her life on Titania, her family having been transferred to a base there soon after her birth. In the harsh desert climate, she developed a tough skin to the extreme elements and learned to adapt to severe changes. She grew up with a fairly standard childhood, good grades, great friends. She entered the Cornerian Academy to study medicine and become a doctor like her parents.

Halfway through her education she met and fell in love with a fellow student. He was everything she could have ever dreamed, intellectual, witty, and incredibly sensitive. She fell hard for him, and they were very happy together until he suddenly vanished. With no idea what could have happened to him and no luck with the authorities, fear turned to panic when she was presented with a ransom one night. Asking for a large sum of money in exchange for his life, and on the condition that no one would be informed of the transaction, Jolene blindly withdrew the funds from her parents' account and set out to meet her boyfriend's captors with the money. However, upon arriving, it became clear, to her horror, that the man she loved had been the one who orchestrated the entire thing. He had been supplying local dealers with narcotics from the institute but suffered a crippling loss after a deal went awry. Having learned about her well-to-do family, he staged his own kidnapping with the intention of using the ransom to pay for the staggering debt he owed. Having fulfilled her role, Jolene was no longer needed, and the plan was to eliminate her to keep her quiet.

She barely escaped the danger with her life. Shamed, afraid, and broken she fled Corneria and began a long journey going from planet to planet to evade any possible pursuers. She learned quickly how to defend herself and took up vehicles as a hobby. Eventually, she came back to Corneria to confront her demons, and her actions led to the successful arrest of her ex-lover, and an investigation of the institute ensued. Several years later she remains alone but survives as a private bounty hunter/mercenary.

Abilities:

Excels in operating land-based vehicles (such as automobiles and all-terrain vehicles) and ground stealth. Her preferred mode of transportation is her hover-bike. She knows basic self defense moves and can handle a semi-automatic handgun. She can fly well enough to keep from getting herself killed, but she prefers to be as close to the ground as possible. In space skirmishes, she provides strategic insight from a base ship, where she can view the entire picture and direct fighter pilots to targets. Coming from a family of doctors, she knows a good wealth of medical knowledge, particularly in terms of field survival. She can provide intermediate health care (mending broken bones, emergency field wound dressing, etc.). She has the knowledge to provide surgery, but she is not confident in her ability to do so, as she has never preformed surgery on a living patient.

ezra.thumb.jpg.65fd8302f90f8e7dbf290b9ef

Name: Ezra Hayes

Age: 29

Race: Wolf

Origin: Corneria

Home: Corneria

Sex: Male

Height: 6'2"

Weight: 155 lbs.

Build: Lanky, gangling, scrawny

Eyes: Blue-Green

Hair: Dark and light gray fur in traditional wolf pattern; tail becomes darker at the tip. Brown shaggy hair is thick with a sideswept bang

Family: John and Marta Hayes (parents), Lilian Hayes (sister), Jonas Hayes (brother; deceased)

Personality: Timid, nervous, can be a bit of a worry-wart, sensitive, intellectual, compassionate

Background:

Ezra was born a very sick and weak child who required constant attention in his early years of life. While he survived, he was plagued with medical problems throughout his childhood and missed out on a lot of staple pastimes other boys his age shared. His parents, being decorated officers of the Cornerian Army, had always had hopes of him following in their footsteps, but it became obvious that would not be possible in his state. Believing the military was the only appropriate option, they urged Ezra on anyways to enlist. In their eyes, even working behind the scene at a desk was acceptable so long as it involved the uniform in some way, but when Ezra began to voice his desire to the contrary, disappointment turned to resentment.

In his teens, Ezra's twin siblings, Lilian and Jonas, were born. Much to his parents' delight, they were perfectly healthy and grew strong. Ezra was largely ignored by his parents in favor of their superior twins, which he chose to see as both a curse and a blessing. The diverted attention alleviated some of the pressure they put on him to join the military, but their snubbing was just added confirmation to him that he would never be able to please them. Ezra chose to focus on his siblings, who he adored above all else, and the three developed a close bond with one another.

While in college, Ezra was involved in a serious car accident, and while he barely survived, Jonas, who had been with him at the time, was not so lucky. Devastated by his loss, Ezra blamed himself for his innocent brother's death, and his parents, blinded by their grief, were eager enough to place that blame on him as well. Jonas' death formed a rift between Ezra and his family, and feeling completely lost and abandoned, he slipped into a severe depression.

Lilian became his saving grace and his sole reason for living. Knowing how lost and alone she had to be feeling, he found the courage to ask for help so that he could in turn help her. With counseling, he was able to work through his problems and face his inner demons. Inspired by the kindness of those in the guidance center who rallied around him in his time of need, Ezra decided to give back and took a job working for the same facility that cared for him.

He and his sister have maintained a close friendship, but his parents still refuse to see or speak to him.

It's alright. You can post a welcome thread in the Front Door forum, if you want. That's the easiest way to get your name to most of the members here.

antoine.thumb.jpg.7031e1bee1649b0677bb63

Name: Antoine Chevalier

Age: 33

Race: Western Coyote

Origin: Macbeth

Home: Aridia

Sex: Male

Height: 5'8"

Weight: 140 lbs.

Build: Wiry, well built, athletic, lithe

Eyes: Yellow

Hair: Tan fur that gradually darkens to gray towards the back; white muzzle and belly; has longer dark gray hair tied back.

Family: It's a big family

Personality: Irreverent, rogue-ish, self-centered, egotistic, arrogant, but far from malicious

Background:

The fourth child born in a family of eight, Antoine grew up in a family where even yelling at the top of your lungs did not fully guarantee you would be heard or listened to. Living in the slums of Macbeth meant tight funds, and as soon as he was old enough, Antoine was put to work on the railroad with his father and brothers, no chance of an education.

Despite wanting to help provide for his large family, Antoine longed to go to school like the others his age and learn. He often dreamed of leaving Macbeth and attending the Cornerian Academy to become a fighter pilot, and when the time came, he attempted to enlist in the military but was denied due to a lack of high school diploma or GED equivalent. Disheartened, but still determined to change his stars, he spent what little spare time he had learning to read and write, but when the Venomian insurgency struck, that was all halted. The railroads were commandeered to ship weapons and supplies for the enemy, and any workers that refused to help in these efforts were terminated. Of these were Antoine's father and eldest brother.

Devastated by the loss and infuriated that his remaining brothers chose to aid the Venomian troops, Antoine left his job on the railroad and went into hiding, taking to the streets to find help elsewhere. He teamed up with a local resistance group and traded fighting for their cause for food for his family. With them, he learned to fight, shoot, and steal, skills he chose to hone even after Venom was chased off by Star Fox. He became a hired gun and sent his family portions from his earnings. With enough time, he grew to be quite formidable.

A job on the desert planet Aridia changed everything for him. He was given a task by an unknown organization to take out a specific target, no questions asked. Unable to refuse the downright sinful amount of pay, Antoine soon discovered the reason for such a high bounty. He had been charged with the assassination of no stranger, but of Aridia's Crown Prince Khalil Nejem. Flabbergasted by the identity of his target, Antoine hesitated, which was long enough to be caught and incarcerated by the Aridian authorities.

Upon interrogation, the Aridians realized their assassin was no more than a hired gun in it only for the payout. Knowing they would not be able to get much information out of him, they offered to double his current offered pay if he could discover who had contacted him. Not seeing much of a choice, Antoine agreed. His investigation inevitably involved dealing with the Prince, who he found to be an intolerable spoiled brat. The two butt heads constantly, but when a second assassination attempt was narrowly averted thanks to Antoine, the two came to a truce and worked together to find who was responsible.

It was eventually discovered that the attacks came from Aridia itself. Khalil had expressed a fierce love for a neighboring planet's Crown Princess, a love some Aridians vehemently disapproved. The assassination attempts were intended to look as though they came from the neighboring planet, and it was hoped this would not only destroy his affection but also incite an act of war. Antoine and Khalil were able to unearth the plot before any more harm could be done. Those responsible were found by the authorities and dealt with accordingly. Given his pay as promised, Antoine made a generous but anonymous donation to his family, enough to give them a better go at life away from poverty. Khalil begged him to stay on as a permanent body guard, but Antoine–favoring his new life on the edge–declined with the promise to return should another well-paying job be offered to him.

His upbringing was extremely hand-fed, and as a result, he has a hard time doing even simple tasks himself. The attempts made on his life shook him up quite a bit and gave him the reality check he needed.

Reflecting on his life, or lack thereof considering how little he had actually contributed to it, he determined to better himself and become the leader his people would soon need. His dealings with the rogue gunman Antoine Chevalier inspired him to learn to handle himself, and he is now able to perform basic self-defense moves. He is currently learning how to handle weaponry, but he has a long way to go before he is proficient.

Name: Zane Godfrey

Age: 30

Race: Dog - Border Collie

Origin: Corneria

Home: Corneria

Sex: Male

Height: 5'11"

Weight: 165 lbs.

Build: Well-built; muscular but agile

Eyes: Pale blue

Hair: Silver fur spotted with darker gray splotches; dark gray hair and ears; white muzzle, underside and limbs.

Family: Marco Godfrey (brother)

Personality: Amiable, hard-working, kind-hearted, quiet, is spooked by loud noises; due to abusive past, he is nervous when he is the center of attention and does his best to avoid the spotlight. He prefers to remain part of the background.

Background:

Zane grew up in the slums of Corneria City, where he was almost never allowed to go outside. His parents were hardly ever around, the responsibility of caring for Zane falling upon his young adult brother Marco. Marco was fairly decent to his brother, but he was resentful, seeing Zane as the entity sucking up his life. He chose to vent this frustration by controlling Zane's life with an iron fist, keeping him restricted and ready with a swift punishment if he disobeyed any rules.

As hard as it was, Zane remained loyal to his brother as a child. He was his only friend, and they shared some nice moments together. However, as he grew older, he came to see Marco as his warden, and the two came into conflict more and more. Zane began to sneak out while his brother was out on errands, and he explored his neighborhood more and more each day he was able to get out.

One day, he went out too far and arrived home after Marco had returned. Infuriated at his brother, he decided that instead of restricting Zane further, he would give him the freedom he obviously wanted. So the pair got into his car, and Marco showed him the slums they lived in. Zane was both in awe and terrified of some of the things he saw on their drive, but terror turned to horror when Marco suddenly stopped the car at a dead end and threw him out of the car. If he was so keen on exploring, he could do so while he found his way home.

Abandoned, alone and scared out of his mind, Zane frantically tried to make sense of the unfamiliar streets. He wandered for three days before he finally made his way home, and in that time, he was subject to things no one should have to endure. He never left his house again, and he barely stepped out of his room except to eat and bathe, which was something he had to be forced to do. Zane had lost himself to those streets, and Marco's guilt for crossing that line drove him mad. He lashed out more and more at Zane, trying to get his younger brother to react to anything, going so far as to physically hurt him to get him to do something, but Zane was broken.

It wasn't until some time later, when Zane was on the cusp of adulthood, that he finally snapped. Marco's backlash was particularly violent, and it was the final straw for Zane. He attacked his brother wildly, and he found out later that Marco had managed to lock him in the bathroom while he called for help. The hospital attendee explained that, in his psychosis, Zane had ripped out his fingernails trying to claw the door back open.

Zane was given help through a special charity organization and put through therapy. Marco was later arrested for a non-related crime he committed later on in his life. The two never saw each other again after that day.

Now mostly recovered, Zane earns an honest living as a mechanic, working on all manner of machinery from gadgets to automobiles to personal fighter units like Arwings. He finds doing work with his hands therapeutic. He's also come to the realization that he is homosexual, and while it has taken a little time to come to terms with it, he now accepts that as part of who he is, but he chooses not to flaunt it to other people.

Sex: Female

Height: 5'7

Weight: 147 lbs.

Build: Well-toned, physically fit

Eyes: Light Brown

Hair: Brindle coat pattern; black hair is cut short and tied into a small ponytail save for messy bangs

Family: Anatoli Sergievsky (father; deceased) and Anya Sergievsky (mother)

Her father was an active duty infantryman for the Cornerian Army while her mother worked as an HR specialist for the base's finance department. She grew up with her best friend, Jolene Wilder, who remains a close friend even today.

When Laika was ten years old, her father was deployed to Katina to fight off the Venomians. It was there he was killed in action. Having been extremely close, the loss of her father was shattering, but with time, she and her mother learned to cope and eventually move on. He became Laika's primary source of inspiration for later pursuing a career in criminal justice. She joined the police force on Macbeth after the war, the one place she felt needed the most help, but the level of poverty, crime and corruption began to wear away at her soul. She discovered her partners had become corrupt themselves, making deals with the traffickers and drug lords in the name of keeping the peace.

Unable to cope with the realization that all she was doing had only been funding this seedy operation, she lost all faith in the system and left the force. She became a mercenary, deciding that she could do better work without the restraints of the corrupt system she once believed in.

Name: Faline "Ghost" Mae

Age: 33

Race: Snow Leopard

Origin: Paxil

Home: N/A (traveler)

Sex: Female

Height: 5'10"

Weight: 160 lbs.

Build: Lithe, muscular, highly flexible frame

Eyes: Gray

Hair: Smoky gray fur with dark gray patches; dark gray hair is kept short and pulled into a small ponytail

Family: None

Personality: Curt, dry, concise in thought, spiritual, disciplined,

Background:

Her homeworld is shaken by a civil war that has left most of the population in shambles. Faline was one of many in her homeland born to impoverished parents who had no intention of starting a family due to crippling debt and lack of resources. To settle their debts, her parents surrendered her to a specialized organization that took in children and put out soldiers to fuel the war. From the very beginnings of her memory, Faline only knew this institution.

When she was still an infant, it was discovered Faline was deaf. The organization had no intention of continuing her education. Rather than see her eliminated under the pretense of natural selection, one man took interest in her and vowed to oversee her training himself. He believed even without a sense of hearing, she could be made into a great warrior for their cause.

As she grew, Faline and her peers were put through rigorous training that only intensified with each year they grew older. Under extreme conditions, they were taught combat, marksmanship, stealth, extensive memory retention, mental discipline, all to be molded into the ideal soldiers. Faline's mentor taught her to use her other senses to compensate for her lack of hearing. She trained her eyes to see clearer in the dark and underwater. She used the vibrations made by sounds to distinguish footsteps, gunfire and more. It became harder for others to sneak up on her, and her high aptitude for stealth earned her the nickname "Ghost".

By adulthood, she and those who had survived the harsh training were accepted as soldiers, and in her first battle, Faline saw that the enemy was no different from them. They were young graduates just like her, brothers killing brothers. Horrified that this was their great and worthy cause and wracked with the bitter shock and grief her whole life had amounted to this, Faline confronted her old mentor, the man she had shared her life with. Unable to give her solace beyond the fact that it was a necessary evil that would one day end the war between brothers, her mentor urged Faline to leave this place. If she could experience the world beyond this war, perhaps the wisdom she obtained while still young could be the influence their people needed to end the war peacefully and strive to rebuild.

Discarding her birth name, "Ghost" reluctantly escaped her homeworld to experience life among the stars and one day return with their teachings. Since that time she has become a mercenary, the only job her skills and desire to travel could be applied to.

Name: Lily Shaffer

Age: 23

Race: Dog - American Eskimo

Origin: Corneria

Home: Corneria

Sex: Female

Height: 5'5"

Weight: 160 lbs.

Build: Stocky, well-rounded

Eyes: Brown

Hair: Thick, fluffy white fur

Family: Eric Shaffer (father), Jane Shaffer (mother), Travis Shaffer (brother)

Personality: Bubbly, spunky, a bit of an airhead, stubborn

Background:

Lily was born to a life of privilege, her parents highly decorated officers in the Cornerian Infantry who had eventually climbed the ranks to high positions of influence. Growing up, she hero-worshipped the Star Fox team, and it was her dream to become a pilot of the same caliber.

She eventually joined the Cornerian Military Academy with the hopes of climbing to the top, but she struggled with flight tests and didn't improve quickly enough for her flight instructors, who lost patience with her. She struggled with her classmates as well, who didn't take well to her overly-excitable personality and "first world problems" mannerisms. To her surprise, however, she was passed through to the next phase of flight school despite her low scores. Confused, she investigated and discovered her parents had been passing her through school by way of bribery and coercion.

Her confidence and trust destroyed, she confronted them, but the truth of her being carted along—as opposed to accomplishing her goals on her own merit—had already done its damage. Lily did the only she knew how to do: throw a tantrum. She dropped out of school and threatened to stay out until her parents agreed to let her do things on her own. Not stopping to think that her parents' "support" was probably the only way she got into flight school in the first place—and unprepared for the obvious reply that they would simply cut her off and see how well she really did—Lily quickly realized just how little her contribution to the Cornerian fleet really was and how little she actually knew.

Stubborn and defiant to a fault, she took what remained of her allowance and used it in a well-intentioned but misguided attempt to form her own mercenary team, just like her dream-team Star Fox. She managed to use her money to bring together Laika Sergievsky, Zane Godfrey and "Ghost", and they have been together since on chaotically run missions to maintain their finances, which has been the only thing keeping them together at the present moment.

Name: Jack Darcy

Age: 33

Race: Dog - Bull Terrier

Origin: Katina

Home: Corneria

Sex: Male

Height: 5'7"

Weight: 160 lbs.

Build: Stocky, bulky, well-built

Eyes: Light brown

Hair: Short white coat, black ears, large black splotch across the left side of his face

Family: William Darcy (father), Elizabeth Darcy (mother)

Personality: Good-natured; immensely stubborn; fairly quiet and even-tempered

Background: Jack had a fairly standard childhood, having grown up on Katina with parents who worked civilian jobs at the nearby military outpost. Growing up, he was always inspired by the active duty officers he caught glimpses of on the base, and when he graduated high school, he decided to attend the Cornerian Military Academy so he could eventually enlist in the CDF. At 22, he was sworn in as an infantryman and served with distinction. Two years later, as the Lylat Wars began, Jack was stationed at the Katina Outpost and earned the Cornerian Medal of Honor alongside Bill Grey for his bravery in retrieving wounded soldiers from the base under seige, an action that saved five lives at the risk of his own.

In the aftermath of the war, Jack returned to Katina to aid in cleanup and restoration. He continued to serve at the base as part of the security detail.

During the onslaught of the Aparoid invasion, Jack aided in the evacuation of the outpost and was sent to Corneria to help back up the fleet. When the Aparoids invaded, he was on the front lines helping to fend them off, but they proved too great a force. In the midst of their retreat, Jack sustained massive injury due to a close-proximity explosion from a smaller Aparoid. While he survived, his right leg had to be amputated.

He was later given an honorable discharge from the military and awarded the Cornerian equivalent of the Purple Heart. Despite his sterling career in the military, Jack was left feeling hollow in the aftermath of the war. He was fitted with a prosthetic and struggled through physical therapy. His mental and emotional stability crumbled, unable to cope with the loss of his leg and his career, and he suffered from emotional outbursts and nightmares.

At the urging of his family, he reached out to the local VA office for help and, after some screenings, was diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder, a result of his experiences in the recent war. As part of his therapy, he was urged to stay active, and in an effort to remain active, he discovered boxing.

His prosthetic made it difficult at first, but he was able to learn to work with it, rather than against it. He took a real shine to the sport, and with training, he discovered he had a real talent for it and decided to pursue it further. He started with small fights and worked his way up until he was picked up by a professional trainer and sponsored for professional fights.

His story has touched viewers across Lylat and earned him many fans. His prosthetic has earned him some controversy, as there are those who believe it gives him an unfair advantage. While there has never been any evidence to support that, and he has undergone tests to prove this to the committee, there are still naysayers.
