"Its Riiiiiiddddgggeeee Raaaacccccceeeeerrrrr!"

Slenderman is a funny one too, I made some of my friends believe that its a legit myth, like Bigfoot or so on.

What's a meme?

A funny phrase, picture or video that's seen a lot. Especially over the internet. "Rick Rolling" and "Do a Barrel Roll" are prime examples.

He just made it up.

Sorry DRL if I had to explain.

Well that's dumb. That never works. I could give you a few examples, but the one I like to use is a friend of a friend who tried to make thomas the tank engine the new rickroll. Everyone know the thomas the tank meme right? Right? ...no.

Memes are accidental. For example, I helped create, by accident, a minor meme in the British sceptical comunity. Just over a year ago there was this new podcast debunking paranormal claims and conprisay theories. On a warhammer forum I was pointed to the mad ravings of a guy running a site called deathtoys. His claim that warhammer 40,000 was a huge conspirasy to make kids into killers. I sent an e-mail to the podcast thinking it would be good for a laugh. 50 something episodes later and they still mention it. It has become the go-to mad conspirasy.

Actually it happened quite a...

year ago. (But you all here at

SF-O know it by just a months).

No problemo.

Two Words: WHO. CARES.

Apologies for being rude, but

my idea of meme is to have fun

with it. As I have said before,

I did it for a laught, and as long

as I have fun, that is the point.

Alas, IT DID come to my mind

'by accident'. I was thinking about

my would-be-serious sci-fi universe

and then it came to my mind:

"What? You do not have any more

ideas? Then, FIRE-THE-HYPER-CANNON!"

There it was born, and it will probably

never 'catch on'.

BUT, I enjoy having fun with it.

That's the point of it, after all.

Then it's not a meme, (and this whole aregument boils down to semantics) as a meme is a joke that catches on in the internet. I have several running jokes and in jokes, doesn't make them memes.

Well, I call that a very unpopular

meme (since it is only 1 person popular).

But still, in my book it qualifies as one,

because:

1] It is silly.

2] It is for the fun of it.

Of course my definition of meme and yours

is different. Mine's is LA's defitinion, which is

different to English difinition.

You best mean one person other than yourself! :D It's a cool meme. It just needs time to catch on!
