Star Fox: The Mimic

"About time!", Steve said, apparently he had said it aloud and shut himself up. He has been a fan and idolized the star Fox since he was a kid, because it was the star fox who killed the anglar forces, which killed his parents. He has been looking forward to meet star Fox all these years and now that he had a chance, he wouldn't dare miss it.

'Hmm...something sure smells nice.' Norman thought, quickly moving to the kitchin and looking around for either something to drink or something to eat.

Who knows what was there to eat?

While Norman sat down, he took a big breath and letted it out. He diden't seem talkative as he was some year ago.... but maybe if he found someone nice and *shudder* hot, he could perhaps talk....

Freya looked into Anna's eyes. They mirrored her own, and were full of mischief. She grinned, revealing her pointy little cat-teeth.

"Do you want to? Should we..?"

She eyed the baskets, which were almost over flowing with brioche. Anna's excitement had spread to her, like an over-joyed infection. She grabbed one, and thrust it into Anna's dainty little paws, then snatched one up for herself too. As she took a bite, some of the still melted chocolate dripped onto her chin. She quickly wiped it away, and beamed at her friend.

"What do you think? Not bad for my first time, huh?"

She hushed down as another member of the crew passed with a smile, and greeted them cheerfully.

"Oh, good morning Sir, are you needing something? We're all to gather in the dining hall..."

She watched as he took a pill and downed it with water. Was he sick..? Another man passed them, and went into the kitchen. He seemed to be looking for something, food maybe? Freya cleared her throat to attract their attention.

"Excuse me Sirs, I'm about to close the kitchen and meet with everyone else in the dining hall. If you would like to accompany me and my friend, you can have one of these..."

She waved the warm pastry carelessly in front of them. Hopefully it would tempt them into agreement, as surely everyone was in the dining hall already.

"Alright Anna, I think we should go now."

Gearhart threw out another smile their way. "Oh, why thank you, and no, I won't be needing anything." He said while walking over to them. "And please, just call me Gearhart, or Heart for short." He said while holding out his hand. "You don't need to be that formal with me."

Arriving in the dining hall, Tyr's icy blue eyes calmly looked over his surroundings.  Sliding his hands into his pockets, the silver-furred wolf didn't try to start conversation with any of the various people already gathered in the room, instead making his way to an empty corner of the room.  His worn leather boots were silent as he stepped across the room, turning and leaning against the wall once he had reached his destination.  The tip of his tail flicked idly behind him, though otherwise the lone wolf remained rather motionless as he kept careful watch of the room.

After a delicious, if not illegal snack, Anna and Freya made their way to the dining room with their goods. The hyeness recognized some of the faces within, while others were total strangers. Not being one to trust some of these shady looking types, she made sure that she was seated comfortably beside her friend. She especially got some bad vibes from the wolf in the corner, to whom her emerald eyes frequently fixed on.

"May as well head over to the dining hall", Zeke mused, walking aimlessly around the ship.  The Great Fox was quite large on the inside, and exquisitely decorated.  Different fixtures and other decorations lined the walls, and he admired them along his slow trek toward the designated area.  "Judging by the scents coming from the kitchen, something good should make it's appearance on the table", he told himself, more to lighten his mood than anything.  It was a wonder to him that he remembered where anything was inside the Great Fox, but two places that he memorized quickly were the kitchen and dining area.

'So...this is way this is called the Great Fox? Nice...' Norman thought, wandering around the living room and the bedrooms...

Nothing exciting hasen't really been happening for Norman yet, not that he is not talkative or whatever, he seems to change a bit from time to time, then again someone could prove him wrong. Who are they? He doesn't know, at least not yet...

"Alright Gearheart,," Freya beamed, and took him up on the handshake, "I'm Freya, nice to meet you! And this cutie here is my friend Anna." Freya's fuzzy ears were perked upright and a slight purr was emitting from the back of her throat. She always loved making new friends. She blushed and put a hand to her throat, as if she was trying to hush the quiet whirring.

"Oh, excuse me, I sometimes purr when I'm really happy or nervous, and between making my first pastries and presenting them to Star Fox, I'm full of butterflies! Anyway! Shall we go to the dining hall?"

The gentleman who had sat at the table earlier had already left, so she waited until the trolley, Anna and Gearheart were clear of the kitchen, checked all the machinery was off, and locked the doors behind her. They stood and feasted on a few brioche, and then headed for their destination.

The dining hall was packed, it was hard to find two free seats for herself and Anna. She moved the trolley next to the buffet table and placed the baskets next to the ice cream. She scanned the crowd for Jeff, and spotted him at the senior staff table and gave him a thumbs-up, then returned to Anna's side. She wasn't sure where Gearheart had went, but assumed he was already making his way through the buffet table or sitting with friends or something.

"Isn't this great?!" she squeaked to the hyeness next to her.

Apparently at first sight, Steve thought that the newcomers are members of Star fox. As excited as he was when someone announced the arrival of Star Fox, he ran, wildly, towards the newcomers, ignoring everybody else. He wanted to see Star Fox so badly he can't wait a minute longer. Suddenly, at about 3 feet from the newcomer, Steve suddenly realized that he just thought she was a Star Fox member. But the momentum from his running kept on going and he was about an arm's length away from her and Steve made a sudden U-turn and ran back towards his table, which, luckily, hasn't been occupied while he was gone. He sat, red in the face.

Freya felt the air current on the back of her head, and turned around. Someone was running from her, in a comical way, actually. She half-grinned and shrugged, turning back to her hyeness companion.

"What's with this place? So many weird goings on, is a banquet with Star Fox always this exciting?"

The lights went off. All of them. The buzz of conversation in the dining hall quickly died. It took everyone a few seconds to realise that the lights hadn't actually stalled, and that the power was off. The ship was silent, even the hum of the engines had ceased. Some woman a few tables away started screaming. She was either scared of the dark, or she was simply an idiot. The back-up lights kicked in then, providing the hall with a red glow. Judging from the windows in the doors, the hallways were now in a shade of red too.

However, the little light the crew was given was not enough to avoid panic. That woman was still screeching, and hysteria, being contagious among the weak, soon spread from table to table. Suddenly, in one wave of anxiety, everyone ran for the door. They rushed past everything in their way, pushing it aside. Someone ran right into Freya's back, causing her to throw herself forward. The edge of the table dug right into her chest, winding her and leaving her gasping for air. In the darkness, she looked for Anna's paw. She was afraid, in pain, and lost.

She figured that staying on the table was a good idea until the hall had emptied, and clambered onto her table. She kicked the plates and glasses off the surface.

"Anna! Come here, stay with me!"

Freya scanned the sea of people for Jeff, her ears laid back, her tail bushed, and her fangs on display. Surely her boss would know what was going on.

Anna found her way to her friend, taking her hand.

"You okay? What the hell's going on?!" she asked with a bit of panic in her own voice. She stuck close to Freya, clutching the neko's hand and sidled against the same table to avoid bumps from the panicking room.  In the near distance, Jeff was taking cover from the wreck himself. Anna resisted the urge to go to him and stayed put, opting to instead call for him. "Hey, Jeff! Jeff!!!"

Freya held on tightly to her friend's paw as she listened to her call Jeff over. She saw his head turn in their direction, a flicker of recognition appearing on his face. He scrambled off his table and forced himself through the crowd.

"Freya! Anna! Thank god your girls are alright, I tried to find you earlier but I can't see shit in this light," he explained, shouting over the hysteria of the crew. Freya leaned forward to answer him, and flinched at the pain in her chest.

"What the hell happened?! Everything's off, we're just floating in space, using up the oxygen!"

"I don't know, all I know is that the power cut out when Star Fox docked. Some of the senior staff are trying to reboot the system."

Freya though about Peppy. What if he was hurt? What if any of them were hurt?

"Jeff, we're going to the Docking Bay," she called out, "Anna, are you coming with us or do you want to stay here?"

She got to her feet and called out to anyone who was listening:

"Everyone! We're going to the Docking Bay to check up on Star Fox, if anyone's interested please come over here!"

"I'm coming!" she answered hastily, not fancying the thought of waiting alone with crazed strangers.

"I...guess I'm going with too." Norman called out, looking for the source of the voice...

It took him a while to find Freya who was yelling out the orders on whether they wish to come with her or not...

He waited a bit, wondering if everyone may go...

Thankfully for Tyr, the corner he was occupying was in no way involved in the mad dash for the door.  His icy blue eyes gazed through the reddening darkness at the surprising number of screaming and shoving people, his ear giving a few quick, irritated twitches.  It was rather pathetic to see how panicked people could get from one such occurrence, though it was these sorts of situations that helped the wolf.

Though in this case, -everyone- of potential value had left.

Tyr decided against trying anything just yet, his ears perking up at the notice of going to the docking bay.  He planned on following, though he would follow after rather than be in the initial group.  He didn't much like groups.

"Docking bay?", Zeke repeated over in his mind, upon barely hearing it above the frantic antics of the other crowd.  He quickly dodged around people heading his way, attempting to avoid being trampled.  "You'd think they'd pick an backup light color other than red", he joked, continuing to navigate his way through the close-knit groups of people running in all directions.  The halls were quite eerily lit, and everything looked sinister in a way when bathed in the red light.  Zeke had eventually made it toward the call, and upon seeing the group of people he saluted, before asking anything. "Docking Bay search party I presume?"

Steve quickly jumped out of his seat and prepared himself to go to the docking Bay. He had been longing to see the Star Fox, and now he's got the chance he wouldn't let it pass. He fixed his hair, clothing, and checked that he was neat before finally coming with the others.

(Wow, I so missed this all, my bad.)

"Nice to meet you two aswell." Gearhart said with a small chuckle, finding the purring a bit adorable.

His ears and tail perked up a bit as he was told they needed to leave.

He followed the group he just befriended to the docking bay, wanting to get the show on the road, and a bit happier that he made at least one or two friends.

Freya looked over the small crowd she had gathered for the Docking Bay journey. She couldn't recognise any faces in the dull lighting, but she did want to double check that her new friend was alright.

"Gearheart, are you there?!" she called into the darkness.

These predicaments were still no match for Gearhart's senses, as he was still able to feel out the room with his senses perfectly fine. He turned when he heard Freya's voice. "Yeah, one sec." Gearhart said, now moving over to her, seeing as she was having a rough time looking around.

He moved over to her and put a hand on her shoulder to notify where he was to her. "Is everything okay?"

Freya gave a sigh of relief.

"Thank god you're okay, listen, we're heading to the Docking Bay," she told him, "It seems that this all happened after Star Fox boarded us, so they may have been sabotaged or something. And we need to put the power back on, right now all we're doing is floating in space using up the remaining oxygen."

She clambered down off the table and onto the floor. The hall was mostly empty now with only a few people left behind plus her group.

"Okay guys," she announced, "I'm going to check on Star Fox now. Thanks for coming with me, it means alot. We should get moving. Oh, and my name's Freya... Thanks for your help."

She turned and made for the double doors. She was going straight to the Docking Bay. She had to check that Peppy was okay.

Anna peeked around her friend at Gearhart, already occupying Freya's other side.

"Thanks, Freya's such a baby, she needs someone on her other side too!"

The hyeness smiled and clutched Freya's hand possessively, prompting Gearhart to do the same.

"All right, I guess we shouldn't be waiting if we all don't have much oxygen left..." Norman felt a little worried once he heard about the remaining oxygen...something must've change him...

He looked around to find a few people standing around, talking or idling...there was nothing to panic about yet...unless it was death upon himself, he could panic but he knew that would do nothing but waste time and perhaps maybe hurt someone...

He'll have to wait what will happen later...whether it is good or bad...
