Star Fox: The Mimic

(Sorry for my absence and inactivity, check out the time clock)

Steve sent for his ship, in which he has to wait 2 hours, and, doing nothing at the docking bay, he explored to look for the source of power failure, or whatever that was. He also wants to help that girl named Frey. He sought his flashlight from his right pocket and readied to defend himself if needed.

(He hadn't heard the name clearly lol)

Anna hurried off with the others out of the docking bay, but no one was quite sure where to go. Was it to the pod bay to escape, or to find playback equipment? The hyeness spoke up, hoping to shape direction;

"So are we getting out of here? Come on guys, we can't stay..." she paused, then spoke again. "Something killed them, we can't stick around. Let's please just go?"

At this, Tyr finally spoke up, his icy blue eyes resting their quiet attention on the hyeness.  "We don't need to worry about that."  The wolf's voice was rather dry and monotonal, an act he was used to putting up when interacting with others.  His ears remained carefully perked, his left hand resting over the dagger's hilt at his hip.  "It's obvious many guests--especially those around us--have training of some sort.  Star Fox was taken by surprise."  With a slow, short nod of his head, he finished.  "If you're as worried as you seem, you have to listen to the recording.  You especially need to know what happened."

As much as it seems, the 'power failure' was planned. If the Star fox has been attacked, who, or whatever attacked them somehow knew that they're coming here today, to a place with many people.

Steve was thinking about this for a while now. Looks like my eavesdropping ability has helped, he thought, remembering how he knew about SF. The only question is, what attacked them?

Norman looked around once more in the break-room before setting off to look for the group. He checked underneath a table to find some things if they were hidden...nothing was under a table.

He then went to the docking bay and felt his body tempurture inside of him go down, making him colder and colder by the moment he stood there...looking down at his shoes. He then started to back up slowly and released a chilling breath of some cold air, he quickly got out of the bay and wondered where everyone would be by now...

"I agree with Anna," Freya piped up, "We can listen to the box on solid earth. We should get into a pod and get the hell out of here."

The cat-girl turned to Zeke.

"Keep a hold of the black box, I'm trusting you," she smiled.

She pushed the doors to the hallway open.

"Let's go."

Gearhart saw all this, and simply sighed. He wanted just a simple trip, but now there was a massacre in front of them. He was sorry most had to see this sight.

The view of your personal hero's... Crushed, and murdered... Lying dead in pools of blood. It made him sad to see.

"...They never did anything wrong..." He said, standing up, and leaving the elastic gloves behind, as to not contaminate any of the other rooms as he walked back to the group.

He went over and re-stood near Freya as she held the door's open; making sure to stay the same pace as her.

"Freya, are you going to be alright?" Gearhart asked first, knowing most likely what the answer truly was. "It isn't much... But I do have some medicine in my room if you would like some help sleeping later... This is something no one should have had to see." He ended, tying to calm the young girl, rubbing her back to help his attempt.

Anna glared at Gearhart, feeling a tinge of anger and urgency from his action. She felt he was slowing them down, but aside from survival related panic, she felt he was taking Freya away from her, like he was wedging himself into their friendship. She lingered in the doorway, letting others pass her up.

"Freya." the hyeness stated forcefully, tugging encouragingly on her hand. "Let's go."

As Steve wondered around one of the hallways he heard a strange rustle inside one of the rooms. He approached with caution, but he thought that the others may be grouped together already. He decided he'd check this out quickly then go back double time. He readied his gun and knife, then approached the room slowly.

Wandering for quite some time in the rooms of the Great Fox, Norman was starting to get a little bit paranoid about the activites that occured here when he arrived. He wondered if there could perhaps be a ghost or spirit here in the ship awaiting to talk with someone or...there wouldn't be anything.

Sweat drops started to come down from his forehead and his tempurture began to heat up inside of him, he wasn't getting sick, he probably just wore a lot of some clothing. Thinking what he should do next, he slowly walked to the hallway and carefully turned on his flashlight to see in the dark. He got lost with the group and couldn't seem to find them.

"Anybody out here?" Norman whispered to himself, awaiting a response....there was none right now.

(OH NOEZ!)

"Haha, a small escort mission, eh?", Zeke joked aloud, attempting to decrease the mounting tension that gathered within the group.  In his mind, the best course of action was to flee the ship at all costs, but before that, trying to find out anything that actually happened.  He decided that, for now, he'd just keep the box safe and follow closely behind Freya.  "Someone should guard our six (rear/behind)", Zeke pointed out.

Freya smiled at Gearheart.

"I may indeed need those meds. This is something I don't think any of us will get over soon. The smell... I feel like it's clinging to me. It's in the fibers in my clothes... It's in my hair... Blood..."

She felt a tug at her hand.

"Yeah Anna, you're right. Let's go right now."

She headed to the doorway, turned around to double check that Zeke had the black box, and pushed the door open. It took a while for her eyes to adjust to the duller, red emergency lighting in the hallway.

She leaned on the wall at the corner, waiting for everyone else to be with her. There was no way she was going on alone

"Zeke, I'll take rear." Gearhart said with a nod knowing he was best ready for anything from a surprise assault. He turned to Freya, and smiled. "Once we get you and people to the room, I'll go back and get your meds, don't worry about it." He said with a charming smile, rubbing her back, and then heading to the back of the group, ready for anything to come to surprise assault him.

(Err...no thanks. I think we already talked about this in PM...I mean, for my character.)

Norman was still by himself in the hallway, carrying a flashlight with his right hand. He was getting worried each moment that he could not find his group or even hear some strange sounds that could be heard far away. In a bedroom, Norman looked around for any documents, evidence or any clues that would help him know about something that was killing the people here...likely a virus......nothing, no document or note was found in a bedroom.

He then headed to the break room and then to the docking bay.

"Hey, if anybody is in here, can you give me a sign you're not infected?' He whispered.

"Honestly, they couldn't pick an emergency color other than red?  How about rainbow? or polka-dot?", Zeke muttered under his breath in a slightly annoyed tone.  Not only did the red light bathe the hallways in an eerie atmosphere, they decreased overall visibility and allowed eyes to play tricks on their beholders.  He clutched the cold metal box in one hand tightly, the other ready to lash out in case of an attack.  "At least there's strength in numbers", he thought, continuing to follow the group, glad he wasn't alone.  "Would anyone happen to know how long the reserve oxygen on this ship lasts?"

Down the corridor, through the next two sets of sliding doors, then a right turn, taking the elevator down two floors... Bingo. Argh. I always hated the word bingo, Freya thought to herself.

She looked at the long, unnaturally rigid corridor in front of the little group. It seemed to go on forever, leading them away into the darkness. Her ears twitched as she steeled herself, and marched forward into the unknown. Her tail was swishing around in an impatient manner, though perhaps it was really just trying to disguise her fear. In cat logic, the bigger you look, the less likely you were to be attacked. The fur on her tail suddenly puffed up as she considered how likely it was that they were indeed attacked from the shadows.

Anna shamelessly followed behind her friend. In survivalist logic, having a meatshield between you and potential danger meant you weren't as likely to be attacked. An awful stance to have, but in her terrified state, she couldn't help herself. Although ideally, she didn't want it to come to that at all.

Steve stood frozen to the spot when he heard a noise just on the floor above. He looked round, and hated himself for not bringing a strong flashlight. He continued down the hallway, as if expecting someone or something to suddenly come out and attack. He waited a few more moments before finally deciding he should go and meet up with the group, which now he don't know where.

Freya pushed herself through the first set of sliding doors. They were jammed and only opened up by between 1-2 feet, so she had to wedge herself between them side ways. The second set of doors were only about 20 metres away, and the light beyond them was brighter, providing better vision. Her eyes narrowed and strained themselves as she approached them.

"Is everyone okay back there?" she called over her shoulder.

'Where the hell did they go?! I'm stuck here if I don't find them quick...heck, I could be dead already!!!' Norman thought while walking in the docking bay of the Great Fox ship. He seemed to notice some Arwings that were inside the docking bay...only to maybe find out someone from the SF crew could be dead...maybe. He didn't find the names of the crew names on the Arwing but he somehow knew one of them must've been in their Arwing recently...maybe they came back from something? A bingo party perhaps?

Norman exited the docking bay and then when he entered the break room, he heard a odd sound that came from somewhere...he must find the source of that sound. It sounded like some snake was hissing or something...after a moment, tiny bugs came out underneath a chair and began to jump onto Norman's arms...to eat him alive.

"AHH!!!! GET IT OFF ME!!!" He yelled while shaking his arms to get the insects off, then with his shoe he squished every last one of them...running out of breath.

Freya turned around sharply as a cry echoes through the hallway.

"AHH!... ET OT OFF!..."

She flattened her ears in fear.

"Did you guys hear that?!" she squeaked.

"Yeah. I told you. I TOLD you." Anna spat, angry that no one agreed to hightail it out of there earlier. "So what do we do? Surely you're not wanting to investigate...?"

Gearhart nodded, looking around, and letting his senses tell him the situation, he responded. "I did... And someone needs to look at it... I don't want anything spreading by any means..." He spoke out, still deciding whether he would go look at it or not.

"Well that certainly doesn't sound pleasant", Zeke muttered under his breath, readying the heavy-set black box for any close combat.  He was tense, as were the others, but the close to bloodcurdling scream now echoing through the eerie halls broke the atmosphere all too suddenly.  As he attempted to regain his composure, he heard what Gearhart had said.  "In times like this, it might not be a good idea......for one individual to go it alone, even for a little", he allowed his whispered concerns break the silence once more.  Perspiration from sheer fear was dripping down the side of his face, it was definitely a harrowing experience.  "If we find out what the hell that was, we should do it as a group, but stealthily."

Gearhart looked to Zeke. He could not deny what he said was true, but Gearhart still didn't like one thing about it. "Alright, I agree a group needs to do it, but I don't feel safe putting the women in harms way. Why don't you and I just check it out? Believe me, I don't need that long to check everything out, and as you said, a group is always better than one."
