Star Fox: The Mimic

He reached back for his rifle but quickly decided against it, she wasn't an enemy, "Woah take it easy there, Lieutenant Arashikage of the Shadow Element, I was assigned here to help out, I just wanna know what's going on here" He said as calmly as he could

Freya's tail fur lost some of its volume, and her heart slowed a little.

"Show some ID. We don't trust anyone right now. Do you have any idea what you've gotten yourself into? How did you even hear about us?"

He reached into his front right pocket and pulled out his ID card, "Right here" He said, holding it up to her, "Now tell me, what's going on here that's got you guys all edgy?"

[Guest Mr. Mario]

"I'm getting in this pod to claim it now!!" Norman said to himself and ran into another one of the escape pods he could use to escape from the ship. After he tried to buckle himself, he started to experience hallucinations...and things in his eyesight started to change, like for instance the garage looked like a old ruin now and everyone who survived in the ship were dead.

'Wh-wh-what's going on here? Is this the future?!' He thought.

As Steve turned a corner he saw that his ship is only some distance away. He sped up, trying to get to his ship. Two or three times he thought he passed a creature, but didn't care; he wouldn't dare fight them, alone in the ship, with more of the creatures for company.

A few more minutes he found himself in the pod bay. He noticed that the 'wings' on his ship have scratches and little parts seemed destroyed.

He reached into his front right pocket and pulled out his ID card, "Right here" He said, holding it up to her, "Now tell me, what's going on here that's got you guys all edgy?"

"Hmm," Freya started, "My name is Freya, this is my best friend Anna. I don't even know how to begin. We're waiting on the rest of our group, then we're going to escape. Zeke has Star Fox' black box, so we were going to listen to that on the way to the nearest safe place. Maybe you should join us. There's enough room in here for maybe... 6 people?"

The kitty-girl turned to Anna and whispered.

"This guy has a gun. He can keep us safe!"

"Hmm," Freya started, "My name is Freya, this is my best friend Anna. I don't even know how to begin. We're waiting on the rest of our group, then we're going to escape. Zeke has Star Fox' black box, so we were going to listen to that on the way to the nearest safe place. Maybe you should join us. There's enough room in here for maybe... 6 people?"

The kitty-girl turned to Anna and whispered.

"This guy has a gun. He can keep us safe!"

"Wait, Wait, hold on here.  What are you running from?" He asked, he was so confused now, there was a dead body right next to him, two girls in an escape pod, talk of escaping, a black box, it was all so hard to take in at once.

"We don't know." Anna replied fairly calmly. "We've seen lots of dead people and signs of some fighting, but nothing actually dangerous."

She hushed, allowing Freya to handle most of the situation. Freya although a lowly cook, was higher on the chain of command and knew more about the ship they were on. Anna focused more on keeping alert. She figured she could never be too careful in an environment with unexplained deaths save a cryptic message from a suicide victim.

"What've you been through?" Steve asked, more to himself than to the ship.

Steve looked around and saw about three people on an escape pod. Wanting to know the situation, he rushed to them.

Upon hearing faint voices from the interior of the pod-bay area, Zeke clutched the black box recorder tighter and began to move quietly forward, knowing that Gearhart would soon join him.  He hoped that the others would be nearby, as he was eager to reveal the contents of the treasured flight recorder he currently held.  The dialogue echoed and reverberated throughout the entrance hall.

"Good thing that you have better sensory abilities than me", Zeke chuckled gently in reply, relaxing slightly and moving his pace back to a light stroll.  "At least we'll have some safety in numbers soon", he continued, slinging the recorder over his shoulder as he continued the pace.

"Heh, yeah, numbers are always nice to have on our side." Gearhart said, not realizing the full extent of what could truly happen. Would numbers really be something bad to have right now? For Gearhart, not yet. He continued to follow behind Zeke, using his senses to scout out ahead of them from afar. "It seems fine to me... We should probably hurry up before we get left behind."

"And I don't think anyone would like that prospect", Zeke replied grimly upon hearing concerns of being left behind.  "We may as well pick up the pace, maybe we'll have some time to crack this flight recorder and listen in on it, eh?", he continued.  He continued down the halls, knowing that he had an excellent colleague just in case he missed anything.  The hallways were still bathed in the eerie red emergency lighting, but they appeared to give way to a larger area up ahead.  "That has to be the pod-bay, right?", Zeke mumbled quietly.

He asked going over to the body and checking for a pulse, none was found, so he began to search around and found a wallet.  Inside were a few dollars, a few cards, and the one thing Kage was looking for, his ID card.  It said "Private Alfred Winchester: Great Fox Patrol" on it.  "Hmm" He grunted, looking it over, then putting it back, throwing the wallet on the dead doberman's chest.  "Alfred Winchester" He repeated, "Do you know anything about him?"

"Hopefully we'll make it there intact", Zeke joked, attempting to lighten the prospect of death.  He attempted not to outwardly show any fear, and continued moving along the halls at a faster rate.  "If we were attacked....at least the odds would be stacked against the "attacker"....but what the hell WAS the attacker?", he pondered over and over, knowing that the information on the flight recorder was even more vital for this reason.  The small group began getting closer to the large clearing in the mass of hallways, the one thing that had to be the main pod-bay.

The two kept moving along, Gearhart able to see them easily there and it made him smile. Finally... This nightmare is almost over... "Let's hurry up now. I don't hear anyone behind us, but I want to get off of here as fast as I can." He said to Zeke, starting to hustle a bit more.

"Hehe, I don't blame you, it's time to throw stealth to the winds", Zeke replied with an equally relieved grin, breaking into a quicker sprint.  Their noise was easily audible from inside the pod-bay area.  "At least we're going to make it off this damned ship", he thought aloud to no one in particular.

"Gah!" Gearhart exclaimed seeing Zeke start in sprint. "W-Wait up!" He called after, continuing after him, doing his best to keep up; Speed was not Gearhart's friend. Although, this made him chuckle at how it all seemed, and as it everything was going to get better. He agreed with Zeke 100 percent too. This ship was getting on his nerves, and starting to bring him fear, Gearhart didn't want anymore to do with this place.

"No..." she finally said, "I never knew him. We just found him. He said that he couldn't take the guilt of leaving his friends behind to die. He took all those pills."

There was an awkward silence until she spotted Gearhart, Zeke, and another from earlier in the group.

"Hey! Guys!" she called, "Do you have the black box??"

"It's about time, don't you think?" Anna said with an ever present sarcastic coldness. "So what are we doing? We leaving?" her eyes landed on Kage, expecting an objection.

Freya paused for a second, trying to recall the Patrolman's name from her memory.

"No..." she finally said, "I never knew him. We just found him. He said that he couldn't take the guilt of leaving his friends behind to die. He took all those pills."

There was an awkward silence until she spotted Gearhart, Zeke, and another from earlier in the group.

"Hey! Guys!" she called, "Do you have the black box??"

"Black what?" Steve asked rather weakly, bewildered. As he turned around he saw two other figures running towards them, with expressions that Steve understood as they want to get out of the ship too.

Steve looked around again. Here they are, the 6 of them so far. He looked at Freya and asked, "Where are the others? Are we still waiting?", not expecting a direct answer.

"Hey! Guys!" she called, "Do you have the black box??"

"Yup, it's as safe as ever!", Zeke yelled back to the Freya, brandishing the flight recorder and noticing several others with her.  "Oh c'mon, you started the party without us?", he continued in his ever-joking manner, moving at a quicker pace.  He was extremely eager to find out what answers were contained within the black box, but was certain more questions would arise.
