King of the Shrooms
personally I love Majora's Mask, the masks were *mostly* useful for one thing or another and there was plenty of sidequests to embark on (a whole notebook of em). however if theres one thing ocarina of time had it's length. ocarina of time had a MUCH longer main quest than Mask did, and some people simply prefer a big main quest over a bunch of side quest. these are my opinion, and people will agree or disagree. but lets hear your opinions. Milkyway64
Majora's Mask was the better game. Ocarina of time broke some MASSIVE boundaries. That'll never be taken away from it. However, it was a very empty and lonely game. The field was empty and flat, kakariko had an underwhelmingly small population, etc. Especially as Adult Like, where the castle town and Zora's domain are ruined. Even where there were things going on, it was just stationary NPCs with 1 or 2 lines. Majora's Mask felt like an epic. Every character had something big going on with them, and the temples felt more important and complex. Sure, it was "shorter" but that's not even that true when taking sidequests into account.
Psygonis
+1 to every one above! OoT set the technical background, gameplay and stuff, and had a major W000000T factor (that's why people usually remember/prefer better OoT), but MM, due to the limited time thing, the precise timings for the quests, the swissknife of masks and epic soundtrack definitely was even (at least) a level above.
Dublinthefox
Well technically I love 'em both. If I had to go with one it would have to be Majora's Mask though. Its less linear as Ocarina and it can keep a person occupied for hours on end.
myu
Oh man, Majora's Mask hands down, though I do love both games. MM was definitely more of an emotional roller coaster than OoT. The ending always gets me. ALWAYS. I feel like it was also more of a challenge. You really had to think things over what with going back and forth in time.
DoctorAllosaurus
Definitely Majora's Mask, It fixed everything that I found "wrong" with OoT.
kkstarfox
I consider both of them to be the same game essentially. I think, MM was so cool because it continued and built on the game of OoT. THats why it was so much fun. It was like a booster pack full of side quests for modern games. But hey MM was a really fun game, and you could do side flips. Whats not to love?
Fira-Astrali
Mmmm, as amazing as OoT was, I'm going to have to go with Majora's Mask. The strange, twisted nature of Termina was really, really special, especially when you ran into people that you knew from the previous game. Having that altered-dimension feel to it was just awesome. And the massive amount of side quests and masks made it unlike any other game, I think. And, maybe it's just for me, but everything felt just a little bit creepy in that game, like you knew something wasn't quite right in the world you were in. One of my favourites for sure.
Tailsz
I have to go with Majora's Mask. It's definitely the most unique Zelda experiences Nintendo has to offer it's audience. There's so much to do, yet so little time to do it all. Ocarina of Time was basically A Link to the Past rebuilt into a 3D game to me. Similar aspects, just different dungeon and story. Redeemer
MM was awesome, and although I'm in love with OoT, MM had that darker edge that won my vote.
Guest Mr. Nintendo
I can't really decide which is better so I will just say 'Both'.
sjrathbun812
MM I think was better. It had a creeper feel. The story was actually different for once, too. You aren't fighting Gannon again like you always end up doing. I think the opening cut scene was to cool for words, (even though that doesn't mean much) and side flips are awesome. I still love both games though.

Deploy
Wow... I'm the only voter for Ocarina of Time... well... awkward... I always thought Ocarina of Time to be a slightly more epic and overall fantastic adventure, but I LOVE Majora's Mask as well and it's very close. I do love how dark MM is. I do love them both so much, but I had to go with Ocarina.
Tailsz
I do love them both so much, but I had to go with Ocarina. Are you sure? Maybe you did it to break the chain of Majora's Masks.
sjrathbun812
"Check it out. Whatdaya know, I gotta go. Call fourth the giants numbers one through four. When I play my ocarina it's a blast into the past. But I put on Majora's Mask, handle the task. And proceed down the path at the aftermath. Through I'm worthy though I won't hurt thee. Just wanna be the real me 'til I get my hands on the force of three, the holy trinity. So I guess the forces in my darkest hour. I'm reaching for the courage wisdom, and power." Something on how that song goes.
Deploy
Are you sure? Yep, I'm sure. I've played both thoroughly. Beaten Ocarina and beaten Majora's Mask with every mask. So, I know what I'm talking about. :P
