The Saurian Adventure (Starfox Adventures the RP)

Whoa whoa whoa! Looking at this title, and looking at who I am, this can't be real, right?! I mean, I'm one of the most outspoken jerks against the post-SF64 games on the internet!

Well, yes and no. Yes, I am an outspoken jerk, but there's reasons to my madness. Where as Starfox Command was a horrible fanfic mad incarnate, and Starfox Assault was the most lazy unoriginal slapped out piece of ass sequel possible, Adventures is... different.

Adventures was supposed to be good. Adventures was going to be good. Adventures COULD have been good. And in many ways, it actually was good. Good visuals, good art direction, good music, good controls, good polish... but the story and actual adventure was a complete kick to the balls. It is for this reason I am such a jerk. Adventures, more than any other game I can recall in my teenage, betrayed me. Silly sentiments, to be sure, but that is the simplest way to put it.

So! Why make a RP? Because this is sort of wish fulfillment on my end. This is going to be me "fixing" Adventures... to a degree. This will let me experience Adventures in a way that is at least -somewhat- satisfying. In a way... this is my way of paying homage to a game that was so deeply rooted into my young teenage. There is equal parts love and hate here. A paradoxial sensation.

Regardless, none of that is important. Let's get this sucker out and rolling...

Title: The Saurian Adventure

Style: Limited Forum (details on that further down)

Theme: Starfox 64/Adventures

Setting: The Planet Sauria

Description: Relive the game Starfox Adventures in an all new way with this alternate retelling of the Gamecube game.

Goal: Discover the truth to the Planet Sauria, stop the destruction of the world, and defeat General Scales

Player count: Soft cap at 5, hard cap is 10 (at most).

~-*-*-*-~

THE STORY SO FAR...

Lylat is at peace. The Great Andross War long over, things have largely gone back to the way they were before. Corneria sits peacefully at the seat of power in Lylat, and once more it has outstretched its arm into scientific discovery! Upon Corneria's many expeditions into local space, a new planet was discovered, populated with primitive dinosaurs in a transitive stage of evolution, having a unique language and a primitive technology level. Corneria quickly funded a research space station to orbit the world from a safe distance to maintain scientific observation. Headed by the top renaissance family of Lylat, the Monroe Scientific Satellite (or, M.S.S.) has been a beacon of great discover for the past six months. Headed by Captain Robert Monroe and his wife Jami Al'Salma Monroe, things were going smoothly.

That is, until now. Research had evidenced that Sauria was entering a stage of civil war, as the marauding Sharpclaw dinosaurs (bipedal tyranosaurians) have gone on the move against the ruling Earthwalker (triceratopian) and Cloudrunner (ptereosaurian) dinosaur clans. Their armies overwhelmed by the Sharpclaw's vicious tactics, Corneria opted to avoid direct intervention and merely observe. However, things soon got worse. Within weeks of the Sharpclaw's rapid victories against the other dinosaur clans, the planet Sauria became unstable, and large chunks of the world have broken off the surface and now drift out into space! Paradoxially, they somehow maintain an atmosphere, as if the world was still being held together by some unnatural force, but no clear answers currently exist. If things maintain at their present course, Sauria could very well explode entirely, and the resulting aftermath could destroy all life in Lylat!

The time for direct intervention has arrived. Corneria can no longer afford to observe the situation, if all of Lylat itself is in danger. General Pepper of the united Cornerian military nation has sent dossiers of the best and boldest mercenaries in various fields to the M.S.S. for Captain Monroe to review, and from these choices he shall be selecting the cream of the crop of an ace team to land planetside on Sauria, discover the truth behind the doom of the world, and hopefully stop and reverse the damage done, saving not only Lylat, but also Sauria as well.

Good luck, M.S.S. team, and godspeed.

~-*-*-*-~

THE SETTING AND GOAL

The Saurian Adventure will be set on the world of Sauria and the chunks of the planet that have broken off into its orbit. Much like the game Starfox Adventures, the party of players will venture the surface of the planet seeking to aide the good Earthwalker and Cloudrunner dinosaurs, battle the evil Sharpclaws, solve puzzles, discover secrets, return the spellstones, and recover the missing Krazoa spirits. To accomplish this goal, the players MUST cooperate and work together, utilizing their strengths and talents as a team to overcome obstacles and save the day. Failure to work together and act like a team will result in failure of the mission!

While The Saurian Adventure will generally follow the plot and gameplay of Starfox Adventures, do not expect to be able to predict all the twists and turns that are upcoming! This is an all new story, an all new retelling, so knowledge of the game will only serve as a very general guideline to the quest! Expect all new puzzles, all new dungeon layouts, all new bosses, enemies, twists and turns! Nothing will be directly copied from the source material except for the NPCs and area names.

~-*-*-*-~

THE FORMAT

The Saurian Adventure will be built upon a limited forum RP system. This means that each player involved will only be able to make a certain amount of posts at any given time, to prevent single-line dialogue spam cluttering the thread, and to promote well thought out, developed, involving player actions. Because actions are limited, you have to make them count, and you can't rely on just yourself to get the job done!

The story will be told exclusively by myself, acting as DM. Robert and Jami will be joining as PCs to help railroad the storyline IC. I will be handling the dialogue, behaviors, actions and plots behind all NPCs in the game. NO PLAYER CHARACTERS ARE ALLOWED TO UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE PUPPET OR ROLE PLAY AS AN NPC. This is not up for debate, discussion, or bribery. You are to play YOUR character, and noone else's!

The story will be forward through episodes and "checkpoint" posts. Episodes will be the current objective functioning as a stand alone thread as to avoid clutter. For example, the Darkice Mines will constitute as its own episode, and therefore be contained in its own thread. Checkpoint posts are posted by me every X amount of days (the exact amount will depend on the activity of the players and my own schedule. Expect probably a checkpoint every two to three days, though).

The game will be utilizing a simple dice roll and stat system. Don't let this dissuade you, it is just to keep characters in check and balance, and almost all the number crunching (what little of it there is) will be handled by myself. The stats will be a simple collection of basic values to determine your characters abilities and how skilled they are at said abilities.

The amount of allowed players will be very small (at least five, with exception room up to ten), so make your submissions count! I will be hand picking everyone IC as Robert reviews the dossiers.

~-*-*-*-~

CHARACTER CREATION RULES

Character creation will be following a simple template. This template will allocate points among a few simple stat values that will determine your characters physical attributes, talents, and skills. Alongside the attribution rules (which will be listed later below), there are a few guidelines that must be respected. FAILURE TO FOLLOW THESE GUIDELINES WILL RESULT IN AN AUTOMATIC REJECTION OF YOUR CHARACTER, NO EXCEPTIONS.

1: All characters are to be Lylatian in origin and most comply with Starfox canon for the setting. This means NO...

-Cerenians (Krystal is the only one, and you aren't her)

-Saurians (NPCs only, not Lylatian)

-Humans (Not Lylatian!)

-Alien species from other works of fiction (ie Turians, Chozo, Cylons, ect)

-Aparoids or Anglars (didn't exist in lore at the time)

2: Any species of animal is allowed so long as it fits the Starfox setting. Hybrids/mixed races are allowed WITHIN sensible reason. Try to stick with pure breed species, however, to avoid cast of snowflakes syndrome.

-Sensible reason in this case means the two parent races are somewhat compatible aesthetically (ie a feline and a canine, but not a fish and a bird).

-Mythological animals are ABSOLUTELY, POSITIVELY, COMPLETELY FORBIDDEN. If I see any phoenixes, gryphons, dragons, unicorns or what else have you, you will be REJECTED, NO EXCEPTIONS.

-To maintain a diverse cast, characters of similar species will be given less priority (ie if you have a fox and there are already 5 foxes you are less likely to be picked unless your character submission is of exceptional quality).

3: Adherence to Starfox standards must be kept at all times. This applies to...

-Aesthetic. Consider how characters in Starfox are designed. There's no Final Fantasy-esque buster swords, insane haircuts, rainbow colored fur patterns, ect. (Exceptions can be made upon justification within a submission but said submission must be of outstanding quality. Unusualy hair/fur colors and patterns may be justified under the pretense of dyes)

-Weapons. Starfox weapons are vaguely defined generic science fiction guns for the most part. Try to avoid using real life weapons (referencing real life weapons as a design influence however is allowed. IE, we don't allow AK47s, but a AK47-looking rifle that shoots laser beams is allowed).

-Powers and abilities relative to the design of the character. Starfox doesn't have small school girls who use claymore swords in each hand, or characters who can summon volcanos out from the ground. Things such as super-strength can be justified under the pretense of scientific modification, and will be discussed further on, but must comply sensibly with the character's design (aka you can't have super strength and be a milquetoast waifish skinny pretty boy).

4: Magic IS allowed, but only under certain rules and conditions. This will be discussed in greater detail further in. For your character to use magic, it must comply with the rules and regulations that are to be listed.

5: Your character isn't going to be a grandmaster of all things possible. The idea of the RP is to promote teamwork to overcome obstacles among a group of specialized commandos. Think how Shepard formed his team in Mass Effect 2, or the A-Team. With this in consideration, design your character carefully. Someone with a variety of skill sets will be less skilled overall, someone with one or two specializations will have greater skilled overall.

-Also consider that because team diversity is key, your character has a greater chance of being rejected if he is too similar to other applications (ie we don't need but one sniper specialist, so if 5 people submit a sniper, you have a less chance of being picked).

6: Your character may not personally know or be related to any pre-existing Starfox lore character. This means...

-No long lost brothers/sisters/cousins of Fox/James McCloud

-No bastard sons of Falco

-No old girlfriends of Slippy Toad

-No Roommates of Wolf O'Donnel

-You get the idea.

-Exceptions apply for things like "did freelance work for General Pepper before", or "was part of the Galactic Riders gang Falco was a member of". Associations are allowed.

-By extension of this rule, you can not romance Krystal. Get over it.

As DM I reserve the right to DENY any application as I see fit. Do not say you weren't warned.

~-*-*-*-~

THE CHARACTER APPLICATION

This will be your character's profile. It will function as the in-character dossier that Robert Monroe will review when selecting his team, so write it carefully and put hard work into it!

Name: (Include their full name, even if they go by a nickname or codename)

Alias: (Here's where you put nicknames and codenames)

Age: (Their actual age)

Sex: (Male or Female or whatever)

Height: (5'7" is male average, 5'5" is female average)

Weight: (Consider the weight of muscles and bulk of their body)

Race: (Whatever animal they are)

Homeworld: (Corneria, Venom, a space station...)

Description: (How they look, dress, and appear.)

Specialization: (The character's niche role and profession, their "job" as it were).

Background: (A short biography leading up to where they are today)

Skillsets: (What they are good at. Consider the stat sheet when writing this)

EXAMPLE:

Name: Robert Monroe

Alias: Captain

Age: 35

Sex: Male

Height: 6'3"

Weight: 230 lbs

Race: Wildcat mutt of indeterminate origin. Appears most like a bobcat.

Homeworld: Katina

Description: Tall, muscled, well built. Fur is golden bronzed with blonde tuffs on his head for "hair", splotches around his eyes. Dresses in a thick heavy duster, padded joints.

Background: Robert Monroe was born on Katina and grew up working on the military bases for the Cornerian military. As an adult, he entered the study of several sciences, showing exceptional talent in biology and technology. A bonda fide renaissance man, he served the Cornerian army during the Lylat War against Andross as a medical expert developing new medicines to reduce casualties. Now he works freelance on General Pepper's paycheck, and with the discovery of Sauria, opened a private research space station to observe the new world.

Skillset: Expert in several fields of scientific study, particularly chemistry, biology, and engineering. Designer of a multitude of devices, expert on Saurian organisms. Accomplished gunslinger and crackshot, prefers pistols.

THE CHARACTER SHEET

The character sheet is the technical information regarding your character. It is divided into six attributes and ranked on a scale of 1 to 9. All values start at 5, with 4 extra points to allocate as you see fit. Points may be deducted from one attribute to increase another.

Strength - A measure of your physical strength, health, and toughness, and your ability to overcome obstacles.

Perception - A measure of your situational awareness and use of your body's senses.

Charisma - A measure of your ability to not only get along well with others, but also understand culture and utilize it for your advantage.

Intelligence - A measure of your cleverness, problem solving skills, and ability to use foreign technology.

Willpower- A measure of your mental strength, health, and toughness. For magic users, it also dictates your ability to effectively use magic.

Agility - A measure of your body's reflexes and dexterity, to react to situations with finesse and caution.

The value scale:

1 - Completely invalid, crippled, or otherwise handicapped. Requires an IC justification (ie, 1 perception means your character is blind, 1 strength means your character is physically handicapped, ect).

2 - Severely debilitated, but not to the severity as a 1 point value. Requires an IC justification.

3 - Badly disabled, but within functional norms. A 3 point strength character may be overweight or physically frail, for example. Does not require an IC justification, but does require an elaboration.

4 - Just below average. Your character might be a little lazy, or just isn't good at talking with people.

5 - The gold standard, a character with a 5 is good at what they do without being the best.

6 - Above average. Perhaps they've a bit more education, maybe they exercise at the gym often.

7- The limits of human ability on its own account. This is the guy with college degrees, or climbs mountains for fun.

8 - Beyond natural human ability. Requires an IC justification, such as steroid treatments for strength, cybernetic implants for amazing reflexes, ect.

9 - As close to perfect as possible. Requires IC justification, as characters with values this high are either genetically altered severely, cyborgs, you get the idea.

10 - Absolute perfection, unexplainable. But, noone's perfect... right? (This is not allowed among PCs)

YOUR CHARACTER IS REQUIRED TO ACT IC ACCORDING TO THEIR ATTRIBUTES AT ALL TIME. If I see low strength characters track-running, low charisma characters getting along well with others, and so on and so forth, you will receive first a warning, and upon a second offense you will be kicked and retconned from the RP. No exceptions.

Example:

ROBERT MONROE (TEST) Allocate 4 points

STR: 5 + 1 (6)

PER: 5 + 1 (6)

CHR: 5 - 1 (4)

INT: 5 + 2 (7)

WIL: 5 (5)

AGI: 5 + 1 (6)

Note: The above is not reflective of Robert's actual in-game stats or abilities.

When a character's stat goes in excess of 7 or below 3, there are physical ramifications associated with them. The reasonings behind these extreme stats must be detailed in your character's dossier, and the following list details the exact consequences of these stat ranks.

Strength:

At high strength, your physical attacks have a chance to hit harder, more often. You also take less damage, are less encumbered, and can cirvumvent otherwise impassable terrain

At low strength, your body is physically frail and extremely easy to damage. Your character likely needs life support or some means of disabled mobility.

Perception:

At high perception, your character is able to sense things to an almost supernatural level. You are given extra perception rolls and are more likely to succeed them.

At low perception, your character's senses are dulled and numbed. You are unable to easily discern details, discover traps, and you get less perception rolls and are less likely to succeed at them.

Charisma:

At high charisma, your character seemingly has an aura around them that attracts others. You are easily trusted without any real reason as to why, and people just like you.

At low charisma, your character has a negative disposition. Maybe their attitude is bad, maybe they mince their words when they speak, but no matter what the reason, people just don't like you.

Intelligence:

At high intelligence, you are able to deduct solutions to problems with little to no evidence or information. Conclusions just naturally occur to you, and you can more easily solve puzzles without triggering traps.

At low intelligence, your character is stunted, maybe even developmentally disabled. They can't solve puzzles well, nor can they deduct solutions even with significant amounts of evidence to support them.

Willpower:

At high willpower, your character is mentally impervious. Pain is an illusion, even in the face of fatal injuries and dismemberment. You are almost impossible to persuade or indoctrinate, and can resist any temptation or fear without a second thought.

At low willpower, your character is gullible and suspect to wayward emotions. Pain will exceptionally disabling, and your character will be unable to readily face dangerous and fatal situations. Fear, lust, gluttony... all these things exert a strong control over you.

Agility:

At high agility, your character's reaction time to danger is beyond human ability. You can avoid ranged weapons at even close range, your handling of weapons and tools is an artform. You exert complete mastery over every single individual twitch in your muscles.

At low agility, your character's reactions are dulled and even disabled. Nerves may be damaged, or otherwise unresponsive. Handling tools is difficult and shakey, and percise actions are impossible.

~-*-*-*-~

THE SKILL SETS

The skill sets are a list of possible skills your character is adept at. Every character can use any skill, but skills that they are trained in are much more likely to succeed and yield better results when successful. A character may be skilled at a maximum of six skills. There are two skill tiers: the "Base" tier and the "advanced" tier. Advanced tier skills build off of base tier, but still use one of your five skill slots, so keep that in mind! Each skill has an associated stat requirement, as well.

The skills are as follows:

Psychokinetics - Allows for the use of magic. Requires at least 5 Willpower, and grows stronger with each point.

Martial Arts - Allows for skillful hand to hand combat. Requires 5 Strength, 5 Perception, and 5 Agility, and grows stronger with each point. (Mastery - Allows for a specialization into one martial art, eg kung fu, karate, ect. Allows for a special move.)

Melee Weapons - Skillful use at close range weapons. Requires 5 strength, 5 Perception, and 5 Agility, and grows stronger with each point. (Weapon Specialist - Expert use at a single weapon type of your choice, eg swords, axes, etc)

Handguns - Skillful use at using small arms and pistols. Requires 5 Perception and 5 Agility. (Gunslinging - Expert use at small arms and pistols, allowing for special moves and failed dice rerolls. Requires 7 Agility)

Rifles - Skillful use at military grade medium-long range weapons. Requires 5 Perception and 5 Agility. (Sniping - Allows for skillful use of long range, high precision rifles. Requires 7 Perception.)

Shotguns - Skillful use at medium range riot guns. Requires 5 Strength. (Shotgun Surgeon - The shotgun user can carry a variety of customized special slugs)

Academics - The character is generally knowledgeable in academic fields such as math and science. Requires 6 Intelligence. (Mastery - The character is exceedingly knowledgeable in a single subject of your choice, eg medicine, astronomy, geology, etc. Requires 7 Intelligence. This skill can be taken several times for multiple degrees.)

Technology - The character is generally knowledgeable in practical engineering and machinery. Requires 6 Intelligence. (Repair/Destroy - The character can repair or rebuild any broken technology they find, as well as break down any functional technology. Requires 5 Agility.)

Intrusion - The character is skilled in sneaking around unseen and unheard, and performing actions while doing so, as well as breaking and entering. Requires 6 Perception and 6 Agility.

Savior-Faire - The character is adept at picking up and learning new cultures and using that information to their advantage. Requires 5 Charisma, and improves with every additional point. (Persuasion - The character is skilled at convincing or coercing others their point of view. Requires 6 Charisma.) (Gambling - The character is good at bluffing, lying, and tricking others. Requires 6 Charisma.)

Survival - The character is adept at enduring harsh environments, treating basic wounds, and surviving tough conditions. Requires 5 Strength, 5 Intelligence, and 5 Willpower. (Adrenaline Rush - When a character is KO'd, they are allowed to recover themselves ONCE an episode through sheer determination. Requires 6 Strength AND 6 Willpower.)

~-*-*-*-~

INTERACTION AND DICE ROLLS

The Saurian Adventure utilizes two separate dice rolls, one for skills, and another for environment interaction. Players do not see their dice rolls, they are handled completely by the DM, you need only concern yourself if they "succeed" or "fail".

FOR SKILLS...

Being skilled in an ability significantly bolsters your chances of success VS being unskilled. Any skill can be performed by a character regardless of their being "skilled" in it, but remember this. Compound skills (skills that have a prerequisite skill, like Sniping), suffer an even greater penalty for unskilled attempts.

FOR INTERACTIONS...

Interactions are determined by your stat values whether or not they succeed or fail. A broad idea of looking at them is on a 10-point scale, a stat value of 1 is a 10% chance of success, and a value of 10 is 100% success (Of course, no character is allowed to have 10 points, this is merely an example). Please refer to the section on character sheet stats for what each specific stat is used for what interaction. A character with a higher stat value will be permitted "intuition" rolls, allowing them to detect and solve things without having to request a roll. A character with high perception will get a "freebie" perception roll when having one is relevant, for example. Of course, players can request an environmental roll at any time if they feel the need to make one.

On a final note, dice roll bonuses are given to players who make the effort to make good role play and seek out creative solutions to situations. Likewise, dice roll penalties are given to those who RP poorly. No, this is not fair, but this isn't about being fair, is it Quality RP and fun is what we're about.

~-*-*-*-~

MAGIC

The final topic of discussion, and one with much buildup, is how to handle the element of magic in Saurian Adventure, though it may come off as anticlimactic. Rather than a huge list of rules detailing every thing magic can and can not do, instead what is offered are guidelines to maintaining the aesthetic of Starfox Adventures' original concepts while expanding on their utilities to be more than just "Use the staff here" puzzle solver.

On that note, none of you are getting Krystal's staff, either.

Starfox Adventures introduced magic to the mythos in the form of Krystal's staff, manipulating the elements with hot and cold, unleashing "pure" energy to cause shocks and propulsion, the dark energy core, Krazoa spirits, and magic-channeling Spellstones. In previous iterations of Starfox lore, supernatural happenings were hinted at through such things as Andross's telekinesis, the ghost of James McCloud, and telepathy.

The Saurian Adventure will seek to maintain the spirit and aesthetic of what has been previously established, while hopefully expanding on the concepts when appropriate. Magic is aesthetically based in ghostly and etheral looks, with a dabbling into elemental forces such as fire and water. The rules for the magic will be loose and vaguely defined to permit creative use of it in any given situation, though the DM reserves the right to deny any magical action if he feels it betrays the nature of what is being aimed for.

Example applications of magic...

Putting out fires (as seen in SFA)

Starting fires with the proper fuel (no creating fire from thin air)

Creating quakes in the ground (as seen in SFA)

Communicating with ghosts and spirits (Krazoa, ect)

Creating illusions and playing tricks on the mind (in the vein of the Sharpclaw disguise)

Tapping into energy sources and using them to empower other things (being a medium)

If you have ideas for how you want your magic using character to use the supernatural, but are unsure if they'll fly with me, then send me a detailed PM describing what you have in mind, and we'll work something out! This will ideally keep every magic user we have unique from each other, as well.

This more or less concludes the RP request thread for Saurian Adventure! Give me a while to re-read it over and fine tune some things, and we'll be all set for an approval! Hope to have fun with all who are interested!

You got me interested Robert, count me in. For now i'll submit the thread were my only character is and i'll resubmit with the 'official' resume and all that jazz when I have more time (class has been kicking me in the teeth hard the past couple days). It might be too close to breaking some of your rules though since I originally intended for this character to be on Sauria during the Adventures timeline and had at one time considered making him Cerinian (which explains why I purposefully left out bits and pieces about him in the bio). I can shift it about though so that it fits if you feel like it could work out.

Note: I never intended for Cerinia to be all that important to the character, just fun stuff to describe abilities and relationship to other characters in story. Plot twist more than less.

shucks to no messing around with Krystal by the way ...jk jk

_______________________________________________________________________________________________________

EDIT: The "resume" you asked for with a modified biography that will hopefully be more tailored to this RP. Let me know if it won't be accepted and i'll work on another character.

Name: Steel

Alias: Steel

Age: 30

Sex: Male

Height: 5’8â€

Weight: 190lbs

Race: Fox

Homeworld: ???

Description: Island Fox. Longer silver fur with light blue underfur. Average height, blue/greenish eyes. Lean athletic build. During missions, often found wearing lightweight impact armor with passive camo that acts to absorb light, reducing his visibility. Outside of missions, often found wearing cargo shorts and breathable synthetic shirts to keep moisture off his body

Edited Story for “The Saurian Adventureâ€: Steel himself didn’t have much of a history in the Lylat system. After awaking on the planet Sauria after an apparent crash landing that left him with a severe case of memory loss – he had to slowly stitch together a new life in the system without the slightest clue of who he was or where he came from, carrying only a name he recovered from the wreckage of the passenger ship he assumed as his own - 'Steel'. He lived life as a renegade, only held down long enough to scrap together a living through the Cornerian military training he underwent after being picked up by a research team coming to investigate Sauria’s biosphere. Steel spent several years in military school learning to be a spec-ops reconnaissance trooper and graduated with only average marks in combat training, but was found to have a particular knack in long term solo operations in harsh environments. He would spend the next couple years working with the military to do surveillance of pirate and criminal groups that dwelled around Meteo’s Sargasso region, Fichina, and Titania – as well as some assassination work on their leaders. After serving his required time in the military he retired to become a free-lance mercenary where he completed small time escort contracts.

Skillset: Excels at survival in harsh environments for long periods of time and has spent considerable amount of time in studying the climate, geography, and native fauna of Sauria. Moderate skills in combat, some medical training, and heightened sense of perception - almost to the point of precognition at times. Not very charismatic due to the considerable amount of time he spends alone.

Strength: 5 = 5

Perception: 5 (+3) = 8

Constitution: 5(+2) = 7

Charisma: 5 (-3) = 2

Intelligence: 5(+1) = 6

Agility: 5 = 5

Dexterity: 5 (+2) = 7

Just a suggestion, but I think adventures should've been about Fox saving Cerenia not dinosaur planet. Seems like it would provide a better plot. Anyways just food for thought

Then go make a RP about it, smarty pants. I want my RP to be a retelling of SFA, which means Sauria.

Cerenia was a throw away background event at any rate. We literally know nothing about it.

Please refrain from posting profiles at this time. The post isn't completed yet, things are subject to change!

It's all good. I threw together another character that should abide by the rules just now and feel relatively happy with it. I'll post later when the RP request is officially "finished".

I'm really liking what I'm seeing out of this rp so far, Rob. Even though you haven't finished, it's jampacked with something that I am crazy about; and that's detail. Can't wait to see the description and whatnot of this when it's finished, because I'm very eager to apply.

The only thing that worries me is the fact that I can only be on at night because of my work schedule. I'm usually on from 8-12PM EST (roughly 4 hours a night)....so, do you think that would be enough time to get some decent posting into this? Although, I don't know how frequent this rp will be updated, so I'll just have to wait for your word.

None the less, I see a shit-pile of potential with this rp of yours. I'll be reading this rp like a fanfiction for sure if I don't make the team. :) Great work so far!

And there we go! This puppy is more or less finished, start commenting on it while I get ready to re-read and fine tune it for approval!

Awesome, i'm still in...now I have to review my RP character just to make sure I get the right personality and everything down - almost forgot who I was going to use.

To tell you the truth I lost hope on this. It's good to see it continues to exist. Im still in.

Just a reminder, this is not the final draft! Some things need adjusting, so if you make some profiles, be prepared to change them up.

But a few questions though. I've been out of the game for...--what? Two? Three years? A lot has changed in the way RPs are started and whatnot. I'm not too sure how this situation works. So, do I post my character ASAP in the RP character section, or wait until an OOC thread is established and post it there?

And speaking of the character herself (--yes, it's a woman)... I've looked at a couple of characters people are using (specifically) for this rp and the rp itself... The characters are kind of hard-core. Which is fine. Perfect! You know, "Kick some a** and take names", "Stomp the pavement, crack the frame, and make 'em bleed", and all of that. But you know I plan on making a comic relief character of sorts. She's going to be useful--I'll make her make as much sense as possible... She's going to be a scientist; geologist coming to study/figure out how and why the planet is just crumbling apart the way it is. But anyway, her shtick is basically... Contrast? Contrast within herself, and contrast with the environment of the RP, and contrast with the fellow characters. A lot of the humor will be forged by the fact that she's kind of high-maintenance and possibly a little annoying, though she could be very useful or capable, depending on the instance.

Robert, I know that you gave specific examples of what kind of things you don't want the characters to do or be. But other than that, do we have as much leeway as we want when making or choosing our characters? I'm assuming it won't be an issue...

Also, with the type of character I wanna make, she's going to need a partner or some type of bodyguard while she does her thing. With the type of person she is, I highly doubt that she'll survive alone. Somewhere between Ashley Graham of Resident Evil 4 and Sheva Alomar of Resident Evil 5. She needs someone to depend on and annoy. What do you guys think?
