Kursed
Why isn't the original snes star fox on virtual console? And what about Star Fox 2? 2 was never released and the old one is probably too old or nintendo doesn't care about use starFox fans anymore. (and judgign by all the classic 64 Fox is stapled into his arwing people I don't blame them.
Mr. Krystal
The problem with the original Star Fox is that they would have to emulate the Super FX chip in addition to the Super NES hardware. They can easily do it, but with only a handful of games that used it, they probably won't dedicate the time to that until they want to release Star Fox for VC, probably as a promotion for the next big SF game (like they did with Super Metroid). KrystalMine
Hm. Well, Yoshi's Island used it, so that's a game that has some demand. I wouldn't think the original Star Fox has as much as Yoshi's Island, but perhaps that game would spur them to add FX emulation, and then Star Fox may follow. DZComposer
Are VC games actually emulated, or are they re-compiled to run native?

Cardcaptor Stacey
I would love to see the SNES Starfox on the VC! I've been wondering why Nintendo are taking so long. Haven't heard any news about it. a virtual console game can be downloaded onto the wii, right? (Sorry, I'm technologically inept) Yes it can. Star Fox Runner
I would think that the Super FX chip would have something to do with why the game hasn't been released yet, but I kind of doubt it. If less experienced hackers can code a computer based emulator to decently run Star Fox, then Nintendo should be able to code the ROM to run on the Wii without the Super FX chip with no problems. So why haven't they done it? Its a lot like how Nintendo says they can't get the Wii to run as a DVD player through a downloaded patch, while hackers can get it to run DVDs via use of the Homebrew Channel. They are obviously lying to us. So I kinda doubt the Super FX chip is the problem. But like some are saying, maybe they are holding it back until the release of Star Fox Wii. Maybe if we're lucky, they'll debug and translate Star Fox 2 and release it as a special download!

ndf
Maybe they'll release it on VC when the next Star Fox is announced. That'd be a good marketing decision, methinks. Get some hype going for the game.

sniper
so if you really want to play it that badly, I've heard that you can get homebrew for wii and play roms on it. (yeah, I know, illegal, but I figure if you already own it, then there's no reason why you can't have another copy.) And, yes, star fox fans are WAY too whiny. Guest Julius Quasar
My friend Oiuja got Star Fox 64 on the Wii VC, and the old school/retro controller for wii....he's been playing it...havin' fun. (I'd visit and play it, but he lives in Seattle, now...)
Star Fox Runner
I don't really like the classic controller, while it works perfectly for SNES and Sega Genesis games, it just seems clunky for N64 games. For N64 games, I just use a Gamecube controller, but at the same time that is clunky with SNES and Sega Genesis games. Its a vicious circle, so to speak. rainfyre66
I have been holding off on getting a Wii/virtual console since I still have all my old systems and games, but if Star Fox 2 is released for the virtual console I will throw down for one no matter what! Have never played the ripped versions though, I should! I will also have to cave in and get me a Wii if Nintendo ever breaks down and makes a new Star Fox for it... RS-Kage
I'm waiting for SF SNES on the VC. Its the only SF I haven't played. Well that and SF2.And can anyone tell me where to find that homebrew channel?

I didn't get into SF till SF64 and by then I couldn't find the SNES one. It was hard enough tracking down a working SNES and a copy of Super Metroid. DZComposer
SF2 will never come to VC unless Nintendo re-writes it from the ground-up. The programming code was owned by Argonaut. Argonaut went under in 2004. The code was likely destroyed.
