(Ahhh, it's good to be back in business.)

Fenris-iicon.gif

One would imagine a battle taking place in space, a vacuum, would be completely devoid of any sounds at all. Like the silent, slow-motion sequences in cheesy action flicks whenever someone heroic and goodhearted catches a bullet in the chest. Unlucky for his ears, the boffins at Corneria Space Dynamics had fitted atmospheric generators to their ships. This where the thoughts that raged trough Odin's head as he pressed his back against the cold bulkhead in one of the empty corridors of the enemy frigate, the rumble of countless feet running around the ship and the loud alarm chanting its monotone "All crewmembers, man your battlestations!" caused his large ears to ring. He took a few seconds to slow his breath before flicking out a small mirror from one of the pouches on his suit and carefully moving it past the corner to his left. The split second he got before a blaster shot tore the mirror out of his hand and sent small shards of glass, molten and solid, all over the deck was all he needed.

"Four, three behind the crate to the right and one without cover to the left." He studied the single, blackened shard left in his hand for a second before he threw it aside. "The one to the far right is a good shot." He looked right, now facing Tiberius McCloud. "Smoke, or CS?" He gestured towards the three cylinders strapped to his right hip. Two containing mixtures made out of everyday chemicals, carefully calibrated to emit large clouds of black smoke when ignited, and the last one containing a gas carrying the easily pronounced gas named o-chlorobenzylidene malononitrile. Odin's memories of inhaling that wasn't something he'd forget anytime soon, and he'd pity the four troopers if that's what Tiberius wanted chucked in to accompany them.

One would think that from the saying "In space no one could hear you scream that a battle in the void known as space would be silent. Well whoever said that was wrong as sound waves traveled to the nearest planet only to be bounced off of it's atmoshpere back into the void. Even outside the command  ship a intense battle raged as  two fighters fought off the remaining guards to the command ship.

"I can't shake him!"Kari shouted  rapidly accelerating  as she tride to shake the fighter that was following her Arwing.

"Ti,ODin can you handle things?"Krystal asked as her veritech fighter  picked off another enemy fighter "Fox what's our status.

Ti and Odin were cut off due to transmission jamming from the frigate.

Ti shook his head and popped out another grenade. "Flashbang." he said. He prepared it, and waited for Odin. "I'll toss this behind the crate while you get the one in the open." Hopefully that will work fast enough for them to get in, destroy the generator, and get out. If not, well... Things will end rather painfully. This thought entered Ti's head as he remembered that he was fighting nearly a whole force. Not too enlightening.

Fox was trying to keep things in the Great Fox together. "I'm trying to get you some cover fire, but we're taking a beating!" Consoles were sparking on the main bridge as a bulkhead took a torpedo hit. "If only ROB and Slippy were here..." he said, sighing. He made fighters primary point defense targets, then targeting one of the frigates with the primary armament and opening fire.

(That's the thing you see. Sound waves can't travel where there is no air. But enough about minor details.)

(Okay! so the topics up. I'll join in when I see a good starting point.)

(Terribly sorry Shinigami, but you weren't among those chosen to participate in the RP. We couldn't possibly support all those who wanted to participate, and thus had to elect just a handfull. I hope you can understand this.)

Fenris-iicon.gif

Odin shouldered his assault rifle as Tiberius ripped out the security pin out of the grenade and crept closer to the corner. Odin looked at the fox as he slowly shook the grenade, counting till the throw. After the third shake, the fox bent back his throwing arm and launched the grenade around the corner and into the opposite wall. They both heard the loud clang as it banged of and further into the corridor. Odin closed his eyes, counting down until a loud bang filled his ears, and he could see a bright light trough his eyelids.

Weapon raised, he sidestepped past the corner, immediately eying the four enemy troopers in front of him. A single bullet tore trough the knee of the one out in the open, and caused him to fall screaming down onto the floor. Two short bursts took out two of the enemies to the right, and they both fell, clutching their arms where the bullets had torn trough them.

The last one, the gunslinger, was out of sight. But there was only one place where he could be. Still on guard, Odin marched up to the crate and kicked it aside, revealing the last person curled up behind it, covering his eyes.

"Don't move." Odin growled as the person turned around to face him. Odin suddenly realised it wasn't a male as the trooper moved her hands away from her face.

Odin suddenly took a startled steep back and lowered his gun as he eyed the shewolf lying in front of him. For a moment, he could have sworn he saw Freya lying there in front of him. Now, he realised it had to have been just an illusion. Her fur was darker, and her cheekbones not as pronounced as with Freya.

The slight hesitation didn't go unnoticed. "Traitor!" The lupine snarled as she pulled out a blaster from behind her body.

It felt like an eternity, the moment as they both raised their weapons against each other, and Odin realised that his hesitation would cost him his life, that she would get her blaster up first. Then, a shot tore trough the corridor, but not from their weapons. The shewolf slumped lifelessly down onto the deck, a black scorchmark now on her chest. Tiberius passed by him, smoke still slowly rising from his blaster.

"Are you sleeping man?!?" Tiberius barked at him. "We're supposed to keep casualties to a minimum." He nodded at the lifeless body in front of them. "She'd be alive if you hadn't let your guard down. Now, come on!"

Odin gave nothing but silence in response as the two opened the security door in front of them and continued on their way to the generator room.

(Asper, if you ever play my character for me again, I can garuntee you wont be in this anymore. This goes for everyone. No hijacking characters unless its small action. Dialog is not an exception.)

Tiberius got to the generator. He felt a little shameful yelling at Odin like that. But he was more sensetive to somethings then himself. Ti took out two detpacks and planted them on each side of the generator. He ran to the door checking each side. Left clear... Right- Sparks flied as two laser bullets hit the bulkhead near him. He darted back behind cover and waited. "Security detail on the right side. They know we're here now." He closed his eyes and tried to visualize the oncoming team. "... I think... Three brain patterns... Ones trigger happy... The other two are cautions around theyre teammate..." He opened his eyes thinking thanks for marrying a telepath, dad. "Just stay down. The detpacks arent shortfused."

"just great and I'm out of missles!" Krystal complained shooting the fighter off of her daughters tail using the laser gun on her fighter before banking hard to turn around. "I  had someone  put Serena into the great fox for a reason fox." krystal sighed looking to Serena's hologram standing on her console with a "I told him so" Face.

"Thanks mom."came Kari's simple reply before she too banked hard to spin around.

"Yeah, but can she repair systems? I thought not!" he said as a console nearby exploded. "And if her system goes dark what makes you think she'll help?" he said. Fox targeted the frigates bridge, firing two torpedoes, and destroying it. It started simply moving forward at high speed using its kamikaze program, as Fox already had an evasive maneuver underway. "Com'on baby, get clear of that thing..." he said, praying that the ship was fast enough to slip by. As it banked port and pulled off, it was proven that it was a futile decision. The frigate scraped hard against the launching port of the Great Fox, destroying all spare ships and the launch bay itself. Eventually it scraped to the engines, disabling the primary engine. The Great Fox started to drift as lights started to go dark in the bridge. The computer started bring up a critical alert. "WARNING: POWER FAILURE ON DECKS 1, 5, 6, 9, 10. DIVERTING POWER TO BRIDGE AND DEFENSE." Fox grimaced at the warning. "Krystal, the Great Fox is out of commission! Keep them from boarding!"

Three boarding party vessels started leaving the secondary escort, heading for the Great Fox. On board each were 10 commandos trained to take prisoners and take all valuable information and technology without difficulty. Fox wouldn't have a chance against them.

"hate the game not the player.' Krystal replied targeting the boarding craft. "Kari got any bombs?" The blue vixen asked  checking her weapons as her fighter moved into  firing range of the pods, grip tightening on her control stick, sweat beating down her forehead this was no longer a turkey shoot  it was serious the life of the man that had  rescued her was at stake.

(as much as I hate to interrupt such an epic battle, It's about time that Starwolf gets going)

Silver bounded back up the ladder to the front seat of the StarCat just as Rayn was climbing out of the cockpit. He thought for a second about his mission; Cliff and Atilla could get themselves into a lot of trouble, maybe going in alone was a bad idea.

He looked back at Freya. She just didn't seem up to a wild goose chase right now, so he didn't bother asking. Instead, he turned to the avian in front of him.

"Hey, Rayn, why don't you hop in the back seat and tag along?"

Fox hopped in the gunner chair on the side, trying to shoot down the pods as they got closer. He was able to take down one, but the other two got out of range, just outside the firing scope of the gunning chair. "Krystal, I can't take those two out. Im gonna need some help!" "WANRING: TWO MORE TRANSPORTS INCOMING!" "Oh shut up you stupid collection of wires!" he hopped from one side to the other, frantically defending his homevessel and memories of the past, his heritage and possible lineage. "Com'on, don't die on me, you hunk of metal!" Firing away, he takes out the two transports, and now diverts his attention to the fighters. No more bombers thank goodness.

Tiberius was still waiting for Odin to get to cover, waiting for the group to walk in.

Krystal didn't respond even as her thumb pressed down on the trigger shooting at the remaining transports her mind still stuck in a bit of a daydream.

Kari meanwhile was folloginw behind a transport locking onto it with her crosshair soon the targeting computer in her arwing locked it's sights onto the transport allowing her to  fire the last nova bomb she had to the transport effectivly pulling away from the blast that disitigrated the transport on contact.

Odin lifted his gaze up to the ceiling of the generator room as he placed his rifle in the back holster, studying the intricate pattern created of countless pilelines crisscrossing above them. Running up to the room's entrance, he crouched down to the floor, prepping all the servos in the exosuit for the burst he'd need. Leaping up, he grabbed hold around a pipe and swung himself up, the mechanic claws on his feet driving hard into a ventilation tube, anchoring him upside down. He slowly crouched together as he let go with his hands, hiding in the shadows of the pipes.

The three came in as Tiberius lifted his rifle tip up. The trigger happy one started letting his gun go off as the other two were hit by ricochet bullets. The last one ran out of ammo as he looked around for Tiberius. It was time for Asper to strike.

"Hey, Rayn, why don't you hop in the back seat and tag along?"

(sorry I can't think of anything better :( )

Rayn looked up at him, surprised. She looked over at Freya, who just waved her hand non-commitally, her mind abuzz with other thoughts.

"I go?" she said to Silver, who just stared at her like he didn't understand. "I go." She said again, a bit louder and firmer, glancing back at Freya again nervously. Silver looked between them, confused.

"Alright, back into the cockpit then, let's go," he grumbled, waving his hands at her like he was herding sheep. He could already tell he was in for an interesting flight.

XxX

"This do what?"

"Rayn, for the thousandth time, I can't see what you're pointing at. What is this?"

"This."

For the love of god, and I thought Cliff and Atilla were bad...

Freya watched the two of them leave in the Starcat, wishing she had insisted on going. Instead, she walked slowly back to her room, playing with an inconspicuous, flat data crystal.

Once the doors of her apartment closed she locked them. She wasn't really sure why, she wasn't expecting any company. No one walked in unannounced. Even her father, who seemed set on stamping any trace of femininity out of her, knew the importance of alerting her to his presence. Still, now that she had been away from him, what she was about to do felt like a criminal act. Treason.

She sat down at the severe steel desk in her room, and placed the card into an external reader. It lit green, blinked once, then the card itself lit up, nearly a minute later. A box opened on the screen of her computer. At the top was a 16 digit number, a number that she had downloaded on the very secure card before wiping it off her data comm, which was far too easy to hack.

C'mon, Frey, what does Juliet say to her Romeo, she wondered to herself, staring at the agonizingly blank screen. After a minute or two, she put fingers to keyboard.

Hi.

Her ears fell at her pathetic attempts to make contact. At least he would know she hadn't forgotten about him. I wonder what he's doing right now...

The StarCat soared out of Sargasso, Silver automatically going through the takeoff checks as he flew, as well as answering Rayn's questions, as best he could.

"Showtime One, clear Sargasso airspace" Silver radioed, using his old callsign, seeing as he wasn't with the Starwolf team right now. He reached over to the navigation panel. "Alpha Three" he said. It flickered, then displayed the coordinates of his target. A small white triangle appeared on the canopy over Rayn's head. Silver turned until it was centered on the windscreen in front of him.

"What be that?" Rayn asked.

Silver assumed she was referring to the triangle. "It's our waypoint. As long as we fly where it's pointing, we'll find Atilla."

"Ah..." she seemed to understand, then continued talking.

***

They were hardly half an hour into the flight, but Silver wasn't doing well. He considered himself to be pretty patient, but he was really having trouble with Rayn. He couldn't hardly understand her at all, to the point that a simple question on her part could lead to five minutes trying to decipher what she said. He began to wonder why he bothered to bring her along.

Minutes later, a small planet appeared ahead. A quick search on the Bounty Log showed that it belonged to a crimelord, a toad called Hurkha. Silver picked up several air defense stations, but none of them seemed operational. All the radars were down.

well, just makes my job easier... Silver muttered as he began preparing the StarCat for landing. "Hey Rayn," he called back. "Get ready for landing. It looks like Cliff and Atilla are on this rock."

The ship entered the atmosphere smoothly. Silver was able to pick up both Cliff and Atilla's ships where they were parked on the surface, not far from a large palace.

of course. Leave it to those two to go partying.

The wings of the StarCat swung forward, flaps extended, the landing gear deployed from it's bays, and Silver swung the ship around for landing. He chose a long section of the palace courtyard for a runway. Despite the StarCat's G-diffusers, it couldn't hover, it's big Ion-Drive engines pushing it forward even at idle. Regardless, Silver plunked the ship down solidly on the cobblestoned courtyard and braked to a stop with room to spare. He swung the ship around at the end of it's roll, positioning for a quick takeoff, and shut the engines down.

"Here we are," He said to Rayn as he opened the canopy and deployed the ladder to climb down. He took his helmet off and turned to place it on his seat, and turning back, saw Rayn already on the ground.

"H-how did you-" he stuttered, pointing at the ladder.

Rayn gave him a confused glance from where she stood.

Silver sighed, then grumbled as he climbed down the ladder, envious of this bird's physical abilities. Once on the ground, he made sure his blaster was in place at his hip, then turned to Rayn. She didn't have any weapon at all.

"Hey, Rayn, seeing as you're unarmed, you'd best stick around here with the ship. This won't take long."

( I hope this post is what you would like to see Tiberius. Let me know how it is, I can make additions and changes need if need be )

Fox was still shooting targets from the gunner seats. Hopping from each one to defend his home, his families home. Bulkheads were beginning to fall, and consoles were exploding. The computer's voice continued to blare "Warning, hull breaches on Multiple decks" Fox was getting aggravated by the voice, but he could not allow the aggravation to distract him from the Transports. He shot down the one earlier, but he was unable to find out what happened to the other two. He continued to shoot other targets that he could. "Co'mon Baby, you haven't failed me yet" He said to himself before he hopped on the comm system "Krystal, what is the status on the other 2 transports?" He would ask.

It was time for Asper to strike.

(I'm personally into this as well?)

Fenris-iicon.gif

The single remaining guard was fighting to get one of his fully charged power cells up from one of his ammo pouches, silently cursing the designer that had decided such a close fit was necessary. The enemy wasn't anywhere to be seen. Probably hit by one of his laser shots, and now unable to shot back. This comforted him as he finally wrestled free the power cell and chucked it into his blaster. He started to slowly move further into the dark room, gun at the ready. Only his own heavy breathing broke the silence, and it gave him the creeps.

Then, everything exploded into chaos as he heard movement from above, felt an iron grip tighten around his neck, and the ground disappearing from under his feet. His gun let out a loud bang as he dropped it down onto the deck, grabbing hold around whatever had him, trying to break its grip as well as take some of the pressure out of his neck. He was slowly lifted up, until he came face to face with the hunter that now had him in his claws. The black-armored wolf let out a loud snarl, piercing him with eyes burning with an inner blue flame. He gasped in fear, desperately trying to struggle free of the iron grip.

The wolf extended his other arm down towards the victim, a thin knife extending from over his fingers. The troopers scream died out as the cold steel puncured his skin, and he was overcome by darkness.

Odin swung down from the pipelines, dropping down onto the deck, leaving the lifeless body of the trooper in a big lump in front of his feet.

"Neuroparalyzer." He grumbled silently. "He'll wake up in a couple of days with a stiff neck and one heck of a headache."

Then, a signal filled his ears from the intercom, and a small symbol appeared on his HUD. Of a letter.

"Open." He whispered, his heart skipping a beat as he recognised the IP address of the sender, the one he had spent the last days memorizing.

"Hi."

A smile flickered over his lips. Perfect timing. He made a mental note to message back as soon as he was out of imminent danger.

(oops. Mah bad)

"Who was that?" asked Tiberius as they made their way to the already dark and lifeless bridge. The detpacks only disabled power long enough that it would seem like a breech but instead it was a power failure. The ship was theirs after setting off the charges and waiting until the ship was clear. He got to the primary control as the ship gleamed back to life.

Guest Mr. Mario

(Heeeeeeeeeeeeere's Mr. N!! I hope this goes right, otherwise I'll just simply edit it.)

Rick was piloting his own starcraft called the "Bazooka" (Same thing as a Arwing but with some different color schemes) and was just flying around in space, not fighting or anything. The ship he was piloting isn't really that powerful or weak, it was more like your average spacecraft with the exceptions of bombs loaded inside. When things were going normal for himself, a missle out of nowhere hitted his ship's right wing and the computer inside the ship repeated "Right wing damaged."

Once he heard the warning, he drove his ship around and saw some enemy forces shooting some lasers and occaisionaly missles at his ship. This putted him in a dangerous situation if he kept sitting there and not fighting back. He used the boots to dash away from the ships and started to charge his laser, then another missle hitted his left wing and the wing got destroyed, the computer repeated "Left wing damaged." The controls for his ship became harder the moment he lost the wing of his ship, seeing as he thought he was surrounded, he tried to send a signial hoping somebody would help him out...

"Distress signal detected. Civilian code." said the on board computer. "Hm?" Tiberius switched the main viewer to the damaged craft. "Looks like someone got caught in the crossfire."
