Drasiana
There's some. Its enough to make you wonder without a whole lot actually being said, such as Pigma's relationship with Peppy and James, or Falco being a gang member. Plenty of potential history there, but nothing actually in the games. Exactly. However, if SF64 3D signalled a reboot, that backstory would remain intact anyways. Deploy
I think that SF 64 3D may signal a coming reboot of the series. I'm looking forward to what could come! :D
Matrilwood
It is not possible to make the one game a reboot and a remake. They are perfect opposites which means they cancel each other out, or just cause complete and utter confusion if they don't. Also if they did reboot the series, I wouldn't be surprized if it became more like Adventures. All the non-canon StarFox games I've played are like that, and action-air-shooters are a lot less popular today than they were 10 years ago. And apart from anything else, it's a shame to see such potentially colourful characters locked up in a small compartment for the duration of the game, which is potentially the prime cause for lack of story. That and, how many Miyamoto games have actually had a story line? (A plumber who eats mushrooms goes on a quest to save a princess from a fire breathing turtle...) I beg to differ on that point. While just barely connected to "action-air shooter," the Ace Combat series is pretty thick and amazing with its plot, and all you do as a player is sit and fly around in a jet while all the plot happens in cutscenes or in-game dialogue. If AC can do that, so can Starfox.
Robert Monroe
Furthermore, remakes and reboots are NOT total opposites. It is entirely reasonable for a reboot to come in the form of a remake.
Scott7
As far as i'm concerned it just needs a re-boot in fixing that darn gameplay, I mean even if krystal was still in the picture what people liked about 64 was it's game-play the most.
Milkyway64
Yes, but as stated Adventures screwed up a lot besides just gameplay. There was no team, no (okay, very little) sciencey space stuff, and come on, a mapped Lylat planet that hasn't been disturbed yet? Sorry, but building crap on Zoness and NOT Sauria makes no sense at all. Then there's Krystal's contradiction to the whole thing with being the only one left in a seemingly tribal race (despite her, you know, becoming one of the best pilots in ONE YEAR) with freaking mind hax (something only Andross has done, and he's a genius mad scientist so he gets away with it)so no, it's not JUST the gameplay that needs changed. StarFox now is like what would happen if they gave Samus a squad and put her in a game focusing on cutscenes like some Metal Gear Solid game. Wait, goddammit! ARWINGCOMMANDER 3987
Yes it should, especially if Krystal is retooled into a character that does more than make Fox stare off into space, thus making Milky finally shut up. :P
Milkyway64
Retooling Krystal to fix all her faults would make her a completely new character in essence.

GameMasterGuy
Maybe not the entire series, but starting off right after Star Fox defeats Andross would be a great idea.
