    Teaser Paragraph:

Game Informer, along with several other gaming news sites, are reporting that Nintendo is preparing to unveil a successor to Wii at E3.

Not much on specifics, but the thing will be capable of 1920x1080 Progressive over HDMI (About Damn Time, Nintendo). Also, it is rumored to pack more horsepower than the PS3. Whehter or not that is the Wii vs Xbox 1 level or if it is Gamecube VS PS1 level, is unknown.

Nintendo is also rumored to want to regain the hardcore gaming crown it lost after the SNES days. A reminder to Iwata-San and Reggie: Animal Crossing won't cut it, let Retro Studios shine here.

It will also be backwards-compatible with Wii software (and likely GCN software by extension). This means Motion Control will return, and implies a late-model IBM Power-PC architecture.

Some sources indicate Nintendo may tease us a bit before E3.

    Teaser Paragraph:

NCL has put up a site for Star Fox 64 3D. It is sparse on info, but it does act just like the Star Fox 64 intro: The music is there, and "STAR FOX IN *LENSFLARE* NINTENDO 3DS" flashes by.

We then get to see the re-made intro cutscene, sans voice acting, and a modernized SF64 logo, which you see attached to this post.

More importantly, we now have a firm date: Japanese release date for SF643D is July 7, 2011.

On the top right of the page, there appears to be a silhouette in one of the star patterns. Is it James, or am I seeing things? Sound off in the comments!

    Site move progress report

    By DZComposer, in Site Updates,

    Teaser Paragraph:

Things are starting to come together. The more recent articles have been restored, as have the major game pages.

Minor game pages and the gallery will be the next things to come back.

Media, such as the voice acting and music, will come back soon. I am converting it to be database-based instead of static pages. This will allow searching and other good stuff. It will also make adding more media later easier.

There is some php code to be written for this a lot of data entry here, so it will take a week or two to get that all back up. You can still listen to our music collection at the SFO Jukebox.

Once the music is back online, the jukebox will be taken down, as IPB's media tag makes it possible to include this functionality on the media pages themselves.

    Teaser Paragraph:

On June 1, 1011, the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra will perform a concert entitled "LEGENDS" that is inspired by the "Symphonic Legends" concert we reported earlier.

The concert will feature music from Nintendo games, including Star Fox. Unfortunately, it looks like the Star Fox arrangement will be the same one from Symphonic Legends rather than a new one, but that arrangement is indeed an awesome one. I'd love to see it live. Also to be performed is the Symphonic Legends Zelda Tone Poem, which is an amazing work as well.

If any of you will be in Stockholm in June, tickets should be on sale now, HERE (Note: Site is in Swedish).

Too bad I can't afford to go to Sweden. :(

Star Fox 64 3D Not a Launch Title

By DZComposer, in Star Fox News,

    Teaser Paragraph:

Sadly, SF643D will not be a launch title, instead launching in mid-to-late 2011 in Japan, meaning likely late 2011-to-early 2012 US.

On the bright side, we get to see the new Landmaster:

Miyamoto also hinted at the possibility of new content in the game, but there were no elaborations.

Hopefully we will get some news soon on the US 3DS hardware launch. GameStop is already taking pre-orders, and NCL says March, but until NOA says something, we are in the dark with March only about two months away.

A Serious Star Fox Film Project?

    By DZComposer, in Fanstuff,

    Teaser Paragraph:

While searching YouTube a few weeks ago, I stumbled upon a video containing a well-done arrangement of the SNES Map music.

What was noteworthy about it was the description, which contained a link to a Facebook page. The link was broken at the time, but has now been fixed.

The link leads to a Facebook wall created by Irwin Rathore, a graduate of the Toronto Film School, for a project he appears to be seriously considering: A Star Fox fanfilm. While there isn't any video, there is a publicly viewable project proposal complete with an intro storyboard by Ron Hobbs, who has done storyboarding for a few major movies, including X-Men, SAW II and Chicago.

The story appears to be heavily influenced by SNES and N64-era canon, and the proposal includes references to the Itoh Comic.

    From the Video description:

"Irwin's main idea for Starfox is to stay true to the source material and not deviate too much from its original beauty. Irwin has been working on putting together of the Starfox project for five years by doing research, working with artists/Jonathan Whalen on the music concept, story-boarding with Ron Hobbs who is sixteen years in the film business and looking at thousands of fan related blogs/sites on Starfox. Irwin's main goal is to make Starfox a future length film, and to assure fans around the world, to make a true based video-game adaptation film.

And one thing for sure, Irwin is not pleased with what them they call filmers are doing with the video-games films."

This is the most serious SF fanfilm project I have seen, and looks like Mr. Rathore may even be trying to take it commercial. Let's give this project our support and spread the word! I really want to see this happen.

Note: Video not embedded so as not to distract from main post, it currently has >100 views, and is a good arrangement, so if you want some music, check it out.

Comments made by Mr. Rathore on the old site:

To answer your question DZComposer, i do apologies for answering this very late,

I have been dealing with Bill Trinen, Nintendo's Marketing director at the North America branch in early of February 2010 ( you can search him up). I have sent in the film proposal and synopsis, the beta music and a brief drawing to him on May 15 2010. His response is that he would look through it, and show it to a few developers (which i don't know who they are...),and get back to him with four months time. On October 8, 2010, at 10:27:42 PM i get an email from Mr. Trinen and stated the following:

" Thank you very much for your interest in developing a feature film based on Nintendo’s Star Fox franchise. Unfortunately, Nintendo is not interested in pursuing this opportunity at this time.

As such, we’ve deleted from our files our copy of the materials you prepared, but we will keep your contact information on hand in the event we need to contact you about the opportunity again at some point in the future.

Thank you again for your interest and efforts, but we respectfully decline your proposal at this time. We wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors.

    Bill Trinen

    Product Marketing Director

    Nintendo of America, Inc."

So guys, i have no clue if Mr Trinen did "or" did not do anything with the project, so there for i did "not" get the reason as to why they weren't interested?

At this point I'm continuing with the project build up and will be going for "round two" some times in the near future.

At this this time i would like to thank you DZComposer for putting the interest of my project idea on your site, most appreciated and bring the fans together and support. I'll continue in working to bring more visual concepts and ideas on the floor, and anyone who has and questions on there minds, please, all that matter is "communication" in order to have the full trust, feedback and faith in oreder to make Starfox film a reality. :)

    Thank you

    - Director Irwin R.

3DS gets Japan Launch Date, Price

    By DZComposer, in Nintendo News,

    Teaser Paragraph:

The 3DS will go on sale in Japan on Feb. 23, 2011 for a price of ¥25000. At current exchange rates, that comes out to $297.44 US. Of course, this is pretty meaningless as NOA will set the US price, probably somewhere closer to $250.

No specific dates for US or Europe, though NCL said to expect them in March.

    No word on software launches.

A video shown at the press conference confirms that the Miis will be making an appearance on 3DS. It shows someone having their photo taken, and a Mii automatically generated to match the photo!

There will also be a "Virtual Console" providing old Game Boy games.

The video also shows a charging dock. Whether or not this replaces the power cord or is an optional accessory was not mentioned.
